Every online business will need tools, and the perfect tool for communicating with people is Skype. This will allow you to communicate with your customers or audience and conduct business. Go download Skype now.

How-to Get the Skype Name You Want

After you’ve downloaded Skype, you will need to set it up; always use your First and Last name. If that’s not available, use your FirstLast and a set of numbers, e.g. “FirstLast0123”. To get the name you want, first you’ll need to setup a Gmail email account.

NOTE: Creating a Gmail account is a trick to get the right screen name for your skype account because settings won't allow you to change this inside Skype later on.

Setting Up Skype: FIRST Create a Gmail Account with Your Name

1. Setup a new Gmail email account – This is how you get the name you want. Trust me, this will be easier to search your name on Skype later on. When you sign up for a new account with Skype, it will create the name for you by using your email name.
2. Setup a new Skype account and select the option to use your Gmail email.
3. You're DONE! And, that's how you get your custome Skype name, see my screenshot example above.

NOTE: If your First and Last name isn’t available, use numbers after your name.

You should now have the custom Skype Name that you signed-up for. You’re ready to start messaging customers and do business.
