First Site is Still Chugging Along!

Right around my one year anniversary at Wealthy Affiliate is when my friend and I started our own board game company. While I continued my work here and on my sites for a bit after that, soon the new company became my primary focus and my sites along with WA went to the back burner for a bit.

Still Well Ranked

Now that I am getting back into the swing of things I loaded up Google Analytics the other day and was very surprised to see that my Family Game Night Ideas site was still pulling in a fair amount of traffic (about 1300ish over the last 30 days).

This was the site that I had started right away with when I first got started here. Just goes to show that when you follow the trainings and target those low hanging fruits, that your site will naturally grow and be able to hold onto that growth even over a period of inactivity on my part.

Glad I Used Pretty Link Plugin

The only unfortunate thing was that due to my inactivity my Amazon Affiliate account had closed. I contacted them here recently and asked about getting it reopened, but you can only reapply (and thus get all new codes).

While I was daunted at first, I reapplied and got my new code. When I fired up my site the first thing that I saw was the Pretty Link plugin on the side menu bar... I got excited. It was at that moment that I realized I did not have to comb through my whole site to update my links, but rather just go into the Pretty Link menu and update each link once.

While it stinks that I missed out on a lot of opportunity for sales, I am still very glad to see the traffic is there and that I am already updated and ready to rock. So maybe I won't have the sales I could have this holiday season, I have learned my lessons and won't make the same mistakes again.
