I almost got scammed!
So I made my perfil in a website called care.com. Which you can find jobs as baby sitting or pet sitting. I "girl" contacted me and told me that she was moving to my home town and she needed a pet sitter. She wanted to pay me $20 per hour because the job was also going out to run with the dog called "cookie" and everything. We set up a meeting on sunday (tomorrow) She told me that she really needed me so she send me a check with all the money because she wanted to be sure that I was taking the job. When I got the check she told me to make the deposit to my account and I did (fool me) Yesterday she told me that I could keep $400 but she needed me to take out of my account the rest of the money and send it to "the dog's supply" via moneygram or a cash deposit. I said no, that it didnt sound right, so I went to my bank and they told me that probably the check was fake, and that I will be able to know on tuesday. The girl wanted ME TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO GIVE IT TO HER!!!!! because when I checked my bank account online I had the money that she "gave me" but the check has no founds. Thanks god I did not spend that money!

It's a shame how many people will try many ways to scam someone. We all need to be aware at all times... Glad you caught it..
Good job Javiera. There's an old saying, "A fool and their money are soon parted." That's why I like WA because you can start for free. Also, always follow your "gut" or intuition. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and smells like a duck, it's a very good chance, it's duck. Your gut didn't let you down and I deal with this kind of thing everyday. Also, if the "IRS" or "Internal Revenue SYSTEM" calls, ask them who they think they are actually speaking to. This is another scam and the true IRS never calls. These people try to scare you using the LAW as a henchmen to send them unsolicited funds. Hang up and tell them you're contacting the IRS to report them. They will curse at you and hang up. That is one of the oldest cams. It's used with all kind of things. They send to much money and ask for some back. Good you caught it. Don't give up on your leisure time.
You did great! I tell you, when people you don't know ask you to send money through Moneygram or Western Union, never do it!

This is the kind of scam that got me 13 years ago! My mum was supposedly helping this guy, who had contacts in my town, and they needed help cashing a check. They came to me, gave me the check, which was a fake one.
My bank threw me out for fraud, closed my account immediately - no warning. It was a dark time, I was a student, alone in a new country, and then this.
Luckily I lost no money, and the bank actually gave me all my money from my account, and I was able to open another with another bank quickly.
So glad you were okay, they are horrible, these scammers!
