It has been the great day (Monday) !In this newsletter I share my experience on the topic:๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฉ๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ช๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ?๏ธSo, recently I was discussing with a group of entrepreneurs who are into the e-commerce business in and a business argument ensued.Do people read long sales letters and buy or do they just want you to go straight to the point?Some guys said people now have very short attention span so they wonโt read much.Some said sales letters that are in detail is very important when it comes to convincing a customer to buy.Now hereโs my take.There are some factors that determine the length of your sales letter. Iโve experimented overtime and Iโve seen results in both using long and short sales letters.Now what determines the length of my sales letter?
The Niche: Your niche is a very important factor when it comes to how the length of your sales letter should be. There are niches that just require demonstration through videos or images to sell. Like a kitchen niche, gadget and tools. A superb video will go a very long way in getting sales.Your landing page would only contain features and benefits plus testimonials then a call to action to place and order button. With this, sales can pour in thousands. In a niche like health, a short sales page or just a video might not do well on answering all the questions that your customers have. Health is a deep issue and you need to address all the objections your customers will have as to not buying from you.Remember, when trying to convince your customer to buy, you want to give them โstrong reasonsโ to buy from you rather than the competition.
Your Price: There are products called โEasy Buysโ. These products are sold cheaply and the customer doesnโt have to brainstorm to make a purchase decision. I donโt need to consult anybody to buy a $20 to $50 product but Iโll need a whole lot more convincing reasons to buy a product priced at $2k.Why?$2k is a high ticket product and not all classes of people can afford it. So before someone gives you $2k, you have to give them cogent reasons to buy.
The Advertising Platform: This too is a very important factor. If you use a platform thatโs more visual like Instagram and YouTube, you want to use engaging demonstrations or infomercials rather than a 2000 word sales page. If you are using a platform like Google PPC, you want to be as detailed and comprehensive as possible in your sales page because people actually go to google to get more quality information about a particular topic.A short sales page thatโs not detailed can make the customer close your page and move on to the next.If you are using Twitter, short captions about your amazing product can work just fine because this is what people on this platform are used to. If you are advertising on BBC, CNN, Fox etc, detailed sales letters work because users of this platforms are used to reading long form content.
