Update with Sister-Law
I decided to go back 27 years and put a face to my sister-law Chris.
Chris is the bride on the right, her groom already passed away five years ago from heart attack!
Her sons decided to take her off breathing machine, two days ago but she is still fighting.
Her Kidneys and liver are failing, and her children decided this morning since she is still fighting on her own without breathing help to start her on dialysis again. They just don't want any more CPR performed on her as she already had twice and now have broken ribs.
My husband still has power of attorney, my husband doesn't make any decisions without talking with her boys.
Chris still not interacting with family, as she still listed in critical condition.
Her recovery is going to be long! She is a fighter!

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this". I Hope she will feel better soon. I'll keep you in my prayers.
I am sorry that youβre going through a tough situation here. I especially feel for your husband carrying the heavy responsibility of being the one to make big decisions.
So I gathered she is in hospice care, that a DNR is in place ?
Does the family need to have spiritual people to be involved at this point?
It is especially difficult as this is taking place in the Holidays.
Prayers for you and your family Jannette ππΌ

Yes, DNR is in place now! No not in hospice care yet, she is in ICU at Jacksonville memorial health. We do have spiritual people, talking to them as well. They just told us this morning that no brain damage and no gallstones as they taught she had gallstones. It is amazing how different medical staff finds different things wrong.
Yes, the holidays are hard to have a family member in the hospital fighting for their lives, and we are fortunate that she is a fighter.
Iβm very glad that she is still fighting!
Prayers to you and family!

What an honor and burden your husband has taken upon his shoulders.
I know this ordeal must be trying on all involved, expecting the worst and somehow miraculously she continues on, despite such added complications such as the possible broken ribs.
I don't know if she has been conscious or under a medical induced coma to be aware of her surroundings. I'm hopeful she might be so she actually can use this extra time she has been fighting for. Although if she is the quality must be greatly diminished not being able to see those she loves the most.
I hope that the holidays can move forward uneventful to give a monetary respite for all to enjoy.
Regards,
Jason
Thank you
Happy Holidays to you as well
