Fraudulent Claims about Your Social Security Number being Comprimised
I have been approached last week with this claim, given a number to call pretending it was the Social Security Department. I called it and the first thing the lady wanted to know was my Social Security number. I refused to give it and she hung up. But, I did get her name (true or false) and where she was calling from (true or false city).
I called it again to further check out the number and got a man. Same thing repeated. I called a 3rd time and got him again. He said I just called (keeping track of who calls) and hung up.
Beware! Do not give out your Social Security number to strangers. There are a lot of phonies and frauds out there. Imagine what they might do, if I gave them this info. Beware!
Since I wrote this my bank account was debited by what appears to be a fraud. The police are checking into it further. My bank is also looking into it as an unauthorized debit.
Very strange world we are living in these days. I say, we all need a deeper dose of God. God Help me.

Sadly the disable and elderly fall for this all the time. :(
My 93-year-old Grandmother fell for a scam phone call about booking a cruise trip and was taken for 5k because she gave her bank account number thinking she won.
