Is this really life?

I recently watched some snippets of a TV show called The Wire on YouTube. I always knew this world was horrible and headed in a terrible direction. However when I saw the different paths these two ended up taking I felt it in my heart. They grew up friends going to school, both had parents on drugs one live with a drug addict mom and the other had parents who would disappear and leave him to pick up the pieces. Within the clips I saw that the guy in the blue jacket dropped out and went on to become a ruthless drug kingpin I would say and the other ended up becoming a drug fiend.

There are millions of people especially children in the world desperately searching for love and happiness and they try to fill that void with money, sex, drugs etc. People are destroying their lives just because they need money for one scenario and it turns into its own gateway drug and opens them up to other scenarios. We as people need to come together and try to love one another more because we are standing by and watching and hoping that the world personified within the areas on this show never spill over into our lives, but then we also want our morals and values which they were never thought to spill over into theirs.

The Bible tells us that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves so I am just hoping that we are all aware as we strive to use this platform as a way to make our lives better. I caution us to also consider the person beside you or the child you know doesn't have decent meals at home, we don't know how far the other person is from their breaking point and until tried and proven e can never understand how much a conversation means to someone. We need to start picking up one another instead of just continually closing our eyes to the bad and opening wide to the good.
