Content and relevance

I've been doing research on a variety of topics within my niche. There is so much information to wade through sometimes it feels daunting. I've been trying to decide how many articles or blogs that pertain to my niche have pertinent and factual information. Sometimes I've found myself researching the research.....redundant I know but It's a challenge to pinpoint good and relevant sources.

I know of professionals in my niche and will tap into their knowledge but plenty of outside sources have common sense information as well. What is the hardest part? Not wanting to overwhelm my potential customers with too much and yet being able to give them exactly what they need. As I said information overload is just as bad as very little information. I try to look at what I'm presenting as a potential customer and critique myself but I can't help but think my own bias will potentially color my view.

I like the idea of having the WA community offer insight and suggestions to not only my website but the material presented as well. The research, the blogs, media, website production are relatively new for me. The one common theme I've consistently heard is patience and perseverance. I can see now that it is not just a snappy saying, it truly means exactly what it says. Some nights, typing into a blog or an article I keep reminding myself to push forward as I do another search for source material. So as I'm typing this I'm thinking of how to present material in a concise manner.

I will be able to streamline the process with more experience and right now it can be a mental hurdle to put the material together in a professional and easy to read manner. I want to try and limit myself to time and source material for each blog or post. By limit I mean I would consider a smaller number of sources with factual, relevant material so I don't get hung up in the writing phase. Pushing out material just for the sake of it doesn't necessarily make me think that is a good thing.

Kiss theory........Right now I'll stick to that.

How long do you think your posts on this kind of information will be? Personally I would break it down into multiple posts rather than one huge one if you will end up with a several thousand word post. Maybe you are doing this already. It would make it easier for the reader to process and easier for you to get it out in chunks perhaps.

Just make sure to do internal links between all the pieces so you can get the SEO benefit of the internal links and potentially get more posts to snag visitors.

I realized just that. More smaller to the point posts instead of a novella. Thanks

Most of my posts are following a template with a 1000 word minimum, 5 headings plus the title. I'm getting better at being concise but it takes practice.

There are widely differing opinions here on length. Personally anything over 1,000 is great I think but those that are over 2,000 or 3,000 are just too long. I try to make sure mine are at least 800 but don't worry about them being really long. I like having more posts and therefore more ways for someone to find my site.

The really good authority sites have longer posts though so there is value in that. I would think a mix of lengths is good.
