Never Give Up
Winners are not people who never fail, they are people that NEVER quit.
Yesterday I was offered a 9 to 5 job.
I thought about it for a while, well actually I could not sleep for thinking if I should take it or not.
I thought about how much I would get paid for doing what I do naturally. I even got a little excited about taking it.
I started to plan my journey to and from work.
I calculated how much better off financially I would be if I took it.
I started to get even more excited.
When I got up this morning I contact the company and started talking about planning when I could see them to get the contract signed.
Then I started thinking about my own business and how much less time I would have working on it.
Because I had already made my plans for 2019 in regard to my business.
I tried to re-write my plan and no matter how I tried I still could not find enough time to dedicate to grow my business.
Then I started to think about all the quotes that I have shared here at Wealthy Affiliate.
The quote that came to mind was:
Life is too short to be working for someone else's dream
What Did I Decide?
I decided to work on my original plan and continue to build my dream.
Why?
Because I realised that I can make a lot more wealth building MY dream and that giving up is not an option.
I may have ups and downs along the way,
I may make mistakes along the way
But along the way I will learn and get better and stronger.
Taking a break to work 9 to 5 is not an option.
Putting my dreams second or third is not an option.
Staying Focused is the only way forward for me and I will succeed.
I have learned so much here at Wealthy Affiliate and accomplished so much in a short space of time and know deep down that I will become successful in my business.
I know this so much that I can see it and feel it.
Here is a short story
I was on a four-week course and there was a lady in my class who left half-way through the course.
She left half-way through after completing the first of two course certificates.
I really could not understand why someone would give up half-way through completing a four-week course.
I asked the teacher if this lady was alright. The teacher replied that she was fine and just decided not to come back.
I say this because so many people do this. Start something and then give up when they are so close to completing and or succeeding.
This is why the top 10% are so successful.

Your post is so inspiring! You actually just put a little more pep in my step because lately I've been stressing over creating more content after receiving numerous (hurtful) comments about how empty my site is. I think I've been creating content at a "fast enough" pace, but you made me realize that the only pace that matters is mine and that as long as I don't give up, I'm going to keep moving forward and learning.

Yes, you can only go at your own pace, rushing it will only compromise the quality of what you produce, you want something that you are proud of and the rest of the world will recognise it's value or many will, so of course it will be small as a mustard seed, but the big oak tree started tiny too, ignore the negativity, usually borne out of their own fears that they could not do what you are doing...

2014 I made, I guess, a similar decision.
I was self-employed as a life coach and trainer for scientific skills.
I got an offer to become a psychology professor at a Applied University in Bremen. I applied and was taken. Was already on my way to prepare my classes. The work was overwhelming, the pay bad.
But I wanted so hard to do it. It was an old dream.
I sensed it wasn't my way.
In tears, but did quit. That weekend when I decided I made a trip to Helgoland, an island that is practically only a big red rock, high cliff in the North Sea.
Gannets are breeding their offspring there in the cliff. The young birds have to jump from the cliff to learn to fly.
I did jump too.
I felt that offer was for a pretty big deal for you. Therefore I meant you jumped!

Yes I have learned that grey areas do not exist, you are either in or your are out.
There is not sitting on fence because in reality there is not fence.
If there was a fence your will still be sitting in either one direction or the other.
So yes you are right. If you want to learn to fly your need to jump.
I feel another post coming on. lol

Good for you for sticking to your dream. I hope you find over-the-top success. It's true that many start something and then give up on it before it is completed. Well, they must not have wanted it much in the first place or they wouldn't have quit. That's one way of looking at it. Other things can cause people to quit...one is a lack of belief that they can do it. I am glad you made your decision, and think in the long run you can make WA work for you. Give it time...that's what I am doing.

Great mentality. I'm trying to learn as much as I can so I can start creating my websitea, blogs.etc.... But I am a health and physical education teacher, not quite a 9-5 job. Being a teacher, I knew I wasn't going to be rich but I love what I do and the way I look at it, is that I have a valid degree for health and fitness niche. So I eventually will have that up and running. I can't afford leaving my job, I have a family to support and my wife has a part time job because we have a little one coming one soon. But anyway great motivational blog.

I am not saying to anyone to give up their jobs.
I do contract work in substance abuse as a group facilitator in criminal justice. I like what I do but it is time for a change for me.
I mentioned 9 to 5 but it is much more time than that.
but love what I am doing here at Wealthy Affiliate more. I am lucky that I can make that choice. Not to say I would not have loved the extra money coming in.
My plan for moving forward does not allow for any other distractions that will take my time away.
I hope that this makes my position clearer.
