Finding Yourself In The Journey
Isn’t it interesting how we have transitioned over the last many decades? Some people believe we need to go back to old-fashioned ways of thinking and living - simplify matters. Others believe that we are living in the best of times right now because we truly have access to almost anything we desire, such as knowledge, food, and many other experiences.Today, one can truly create their own life and wealth, in a unique way, and without even leaving their house.
At the young age of 25, my parents came to this country in the early 1960s, not knowing what to expect, but determined to be successful. Their only motivation was based on what they “heard” about America. Despite the controversial time, and lack of cellphones and social media, they came feeling faithful that all would work out just fine. And it did. I can imagine that they had some anxiety, but I think it was the fuel that drove their determination.
I don’t even know, still to this day, if they pursued their passion but I do know that they worked hard and created quite a lovely life for my sister and me. They are both comfortable, healthy and retired now. In some ways, I do envy that they seemed to easily figure it out and get it done.
I appreciate this time now. Despite the uneasy and unpredictable feeling, we are able to find ways to renew ourselves. Brush yourself off, come back and try something new. If we are receptive to trying something different, we can discover more about our potential and abilities.
Go in, not knowing what the outcome will be, but determined to be better than you were yesterday. I think we all can find out amazing things about ourselves that we did not know. Trust the journey, follow the steps, share your talents and encourage one another.

You should sit down with your parents and document their journey - you may find it wasn't as easy as they made you believe. They may have some great pointers for you. I am loving and living my journey this year!
