Hey there and a Big Welcome to Day 24 of Learn How to Build a Website Yourself in WordPress 2017 – it’s time to register a domain name!

NOTE:

In order to see any of the previous day’s posts – check out My Posts blog roll on the bottom right hand side.

A recap on what I did yesterday – Day 23:

· Researched my keywords and have made a list of 30 posts to be written and have made a list of 6 categories for my Authority Site

· Decided on Amazon as my affiliate program at this time as they have everything I need

So today I’ve moved onto the tasks in Day 2 from previous posts:

And what I’ve done today is:

Ready to put this into action?

Start your free journey today — no credit card required.

· Chosen and registered a new domain name

· Chosen, installed and activated my theme which is a pretty simple, clean theme

· Went into Posts and Pages – trashed the current post and page and deleted the trash permanently

· Created Pages: my Main Keyword Page, an About Page, a Privacy Policy and a Contact Page with little to no content at this point.

· I’ll have a Blog Page but this won’t be on the Main Menu at this point as all of my posts will be going under one of 6 Categories. I will only have the Blog Roll visible on the right of my Main Keyword Page.

· Every post I create will be in full width format, at this point in time. I don’t want my visitors to have any distractions but there will be a full menu directly above my posts with my previous posts all in a category menu

· In Settings > Reading > I’ve a static page as my Front page of my main keywords and my Posts page as Blog

· In Settings > General > My Site Title is already there and I’ve added in my Tagline. I’ve changed my time zone as well

· The last thing I’ve done here is Settings > Permalinks > click on Post name. (This has changed from clicking on Custom Structure making sure that /%postname%/ is in the box provided) – it seems as though just clicking on Post name is all that’s required here now!

I’m going to leave it there for today and start getting onto other aspects of my site.

Here’s to you having a great day… I’ll see you tomorrow as

Tomorrow we’ll be on Day 25 of Learn how to build a website yourself in WordPress in 2017 and I will carry on from where we left off today!

Thanks so much for coming along, and again, you’re most welcome to leave a comment or ask a question below if you wish to do so, thanks and …

Cheers,

Jacqueline
