Progress so far
Hi WA friends!
A big thank you to all you. What a great community this is! I'm grateful to everyone who's taken the time to help answer my questions so far. when I have more time, i want to spend more time here helping newbies like me too.
Here's my status up date.
I have several pages up on my site. I'm in module 3 doing the product review assignment on a digital product. It takes me about 3 - 4 days to write it, and a week to watch the program.
Is this a normal amount of time to do an assignment like this?
Does it take you this amount of time?
On Friday I we decided we picked a wordpress theme that wasn't going to work, so we're starting over with a new theme. Does this happen a lot? I have no idea how to change it but I'll figure it out....that's something I'm dealing with.
My site is coming together and I have some great products and it just feels full of potential. I found an Ayurvedic doctor in India to write articles for me and have made a few other connections with lots of potential.
Actually, honestly...it feels a little scary. It feels like it's going to require a lot of attention, dedication and work. I'm up for it and I'm trying to find a way to employ my daughter as well. She lives in Laguna Beach with her husband and my grandson, Cayden.
This is his 8 month picture taken on the 25th of this month.

It's great to hear from you and it sounds like you're making some amazing progress in the little amount of time you've been here. As far as the amount of time it's taking you to finish the tasks, this is fine.
I tell people all the time that everyone learns this stuff at a different rate. Some people catch on really quick and it takes others a little longer to get the hang of it.
Personally for me, It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do (Close to a year) before I was able to make any progress and see the fruits of my labor.
When I first started here, I went through quite a few themes. It took me quite a while before I found one that I liked and one that was able to showcase my content, and stand out above every other theme that I had.
To install a new theme simply go into appearance, themes. At the top of your screen, you will see a button that says add new, click on that and you should see a button that says upload theme.
Click on that and locate the zip file of the theme you want to upload and click open. This will load the contents of the theme to your website.
To search for a theme in WordPress go into appearance, themes and click on add new but this time, look to your right and you should see a search box here.
You can filter your results by clicking on the buttons to your left to narrow down your search.
Building a website does require lots of work, motivation and dedication but the end result is absolutely awesome.Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress so far and please let me

I'm relieved to know that everyone has their own version of "working it out" I'm learning so much but want to "be there" and know it all. haha :)

Everyone's story will be different when it comes to building their online empire because everyone learns at a different rate. As you continue to work through the training you will learn more but I'm not sure if you'll ever know it all haha.
I've been here for a little over 3 years and I still don't know even half of it yet, but I learn something new every day.
The email I sent you earlier today can be found in your private messages which you can access by clicking on the envelope icon to your right at the top of your screen.

Hi Jackie. Rome wasn't built in a day. You have taken one of the biggest steps, that most people do not take and that is to start a business. Yes the journey may seem slow at times and you may feel that little progress is being made, however, you are building your future. As you progress and get more confident the speed will come...
Hi Jackie. With regard to the length of time taken to get where you are now,you're doing great! I am a new member, and it's taken me 5 days to get the Google verification, plenty of hysterics and tantrums, and I'm a grandma too! But in the end it will happen, don't stress over it,take it one day at a time, and enjoy the journey. Hopefully it will get easier, with the help of this great community. Regards, Jan
Hey Jackie! I don't think there really is a "normal" amount of time to do an assignment. People work at different paces and put in different amounts of time each day. Just work it at your own pace and you will be fine. Yes, it will require some hours to keep your site updated and fresh but it will be worth it. And it will get easier as you go through the process and things fall into place in your mind. Don't forget there are a lot of us out here willing and ready to help you as needed.
