Introductions matter!
As the growing numbers of bloggers, blogs, and daily usage of social media platforms users continues to skyrocket, I am amazed at the lack of personal introduction content posted, either in verbal or written form. An effective personal and/or professional introduction forms the foundation for everything that we do! Hello, check out my premium website at XXXXXX is not an effective introduction!
Rather, I use the "Five Finger's Introduction". An "algorithm" that I have developed to streamline the communication process for everyone. My thumb is hello and my name, my index finger is what I do, my middle finger is why I like doing it, my fourth finger is my name again, for reinforcement and my fifth finger is nice to meet you. The cornerstone of technology is it works the same way universally. Skype and Zoom work the same way universally. What is the goal of these products? TO SIMPLIFY COMMUNICATION!
Introductions must be powerful and focused because we use them personally and as a gateway for discussion on a wide variety of topics to generate conversation. The first impression is critical. I enjoy interaction with everyone, not only to grow the communication processes of listening, speaking, reading and writing of American English, but also to continue to use and reuse the different types of technological platforms that are available to choose from. I can train a person to use Skype and Zoom without any audio or speech components.
An introduction is not that simple. It takes a few moments to develop the skill(s) and practice them. Using this platform as one of the many examples that I have seen, and one that I want to be heavily involved in, led me to the decision to simply introduce myself to everyone.
