First Blog Post at WA
I've done quite a bit of work so far in the 2-3 months here. This blog is part of the last section of Level II training that I am about to finish off. I have pushed ahead well into Level III already. Having been a scuba diving instructor for 26 years, a niche in diving equipment is kind of a natural for me. It appears to be a very competitive space, but based on Kyle's advice I am trying not to worry about that so far and will focuson content. My website is up and ranked by Google. I plan to add content on a regular basis. A lot of it will be reviewing various equipment categories, but I also will be adding other things of general interest. Also my thinking is newer high tech items geared for more advanced divers can potentially place me more at the cutting edge of the niche. I can also link to dive tour and vacation providers. I certainly hope I can start to monetize this in the next 3-4 months. I am just retiring now from teaching in high schools in China due to my age. I will continue to live in Asia (I've been here since 1986) where expenses are cheap, but I do not qualify for a pension or medicare, so I hope this will soon provide a decent chunk of income. I do have a couple of other irons in the fire, but this will be where I put in my major focus on a full time

Sort of reviving an old post, but I was curious to know how the website is doing now that some time has passed.
I've put in an unbelievable amount of time and have around 500 posts now. Unfortunately, my income is still low. The covid has not helped much. Scuba diving, outdoor sports, and travel don't have much participation. If things don't pick up soon I will run out of time and money to continue.
First of all thanks for answering, I'm just starting and I'll be honest, I'm a bit sceptical within this industry, sure some are doing really great, but as anything others not so much.
Although I'm truly sorry to hear that yours is not doing so great. :(
Indeed Covid has been troubling in too many ways...
Wish I could assist, but just starting out, I doubt it.
Regardless, I have a few ideas that I'd like to work on, so if nothing else I'll put the work just in case it does actually end up well!

Maybe its not the situation or time, maybe its the mindset as well. it is like you are having doubts with your ability to make money. there will always be uncertainties and crisis around but if your mindset is strong, you will find all the necessary ways to reach you goal! keep it up and keep going, im rooting for you! 🤞

Diving can be a great niche, and indeed, choosing strong keywords will help you rank well. Don't just use Amazon as a merchant - they only have a one day cookie and I'm guessing people will want to think about something before purchasing, especially if it's a costly item.
Hello Joe, please help me to understand about "one day cookie", I know that a customer purchase-visit will leave a foot print called cookie
It means that the consumer only has one day to buy something in order for you to earn a commission. After that, regardless of what they buy, you earn nothing.

Cool! Your First Post 2018 and now 2022 you here, NICE! Very Good, Keep up the great work. I am just going over the lessons learning and got my niche and will soon start to create my website. I know I have lot to learn, but I will learn. We got to keep POSITIVE and "Lets Get This Bread!"
