From Active Income To Passive Income
How It All Began
Back in 2008 I was working as the lead digital marketer and web designer for a company that trains you how to start your own concrete decoration business. This company I was working salary and as a lot of you know when you are salary you work unbelievable hours for the same pay. I would on average work 50 hours per week.
This got so bad when I was traveling in the Philippines I got so sick that they doctors thought I was going to die. While laying in a hospital bed my boss calls me on skype and said they need me to work now or I will be fired. This was not only my day off but wasn't even something I was supposed to do. Someone else messed up the clients project and he thought I was the only one who could fix it. So while having iv's in me and can barely move I did what my boss required of me.
Obviously my time at the company didn't last much longer knowing that I was working for someone who valued a couple thousand dollars over my health.
After leaving this company I vowed to never work for another person again.
I freelanced up until 2015 when I decided to create my own company. I built up enough money over the years I felt like I could hire enough people to start my own web design and digital marketing agency.
After 3 years I was able to get major cities, colleges and large businesses to use my services. Even though I was making great money I was extremely miserable. I felt like I was in a rat race trying to explain to customers why things like SEO takes time and why they need to care more about the customers wants than their own.
It is nutty how when you beg a client not to do something and they have you do it anyways and it fails how it is still somehow your fault.
This just got overbearing and I always wanted to try doing passive income on a larger scale. I have meddled with it when I had time over the years and made some decent money but I was only putting in 2-5 hrs per week if that. Not a really good recipe for success.
So I decided to sell my company a few weeks ago and go all in on creating passive income. With my marketing background I knew this is an area I can succeed. It will take time for sure but I have the confidence to do so.
How I Ended Up At Wealthy Affiliate
In 2015 I decided that every year I was going to invest into a new course or class so I can learn something new and grow from it.
After doing some research I had a buddy in the marketing industry said he heard nothing but great things about this platform.
When coming in I had my concerns. Mainly that I would know all the training and be wasting money. With the promo price of $19.99 I thought it couldn't hurt to try one month.
So I dove in.
I Was Legit Amazed
I have been a part of communties and courses before from some of the worlds best marketers. The one thing I can say WA blows everything else out of the water with is the commitment to the community.
It forces you to open up and be apart of the community. I have met some awesome people who gave me new insights on content writing and what they look for in a blog. Inside the course if practicly forces you to reach out and network.
I love this about Wealthy Affiliate.
Community Is Great But Did I Learn Anything
So here is the crazy part. I have taken Neil Patel's Advanced Marketing Program and Brian Dean's SEO That Works 1.0 and 2.0. I have completed both training programs.
I am currently finishing up course 2 on Wealthy Affiliate and I have learned some new tools and strategies that I either didn't know about or forgot about.
I am pleasantly surprised by the platform and the content being taught. If you are like me there will be things you already know. Don't go in acting like you know it all or know more and do it step by step like you're relearning it all over again.
I promise this will make this course enjoyable and simple. I am going to do it step by step and not doing any of the training I received from other courses until after I am done with all modules. By then I will see if it is even needed.
Benefits of Wealthy Affiliate
1.) Has a free trial
2.) Has a training course that has great information
3.) Best community online I have found so far.
4.) You get up to 50 websites with a premium membership
5.) You get a professional email
6.) You get access to some amazing tools.
How Long Do I Think I Will Stay?
I plan on staying for at least a year because after 1 week I saw the value in that investment. Not only is a year investment going to 100% be worth it but 1 year investment isn't even near the prices I paid for other courses.
I am excited to see where this course takes me and I hope you jump and try Wealthy Affiliate for FREE today.

That is the best reference I have read for Wealthy Affiliate, I hope it continues to prove itself to you. I came in as a total newbie at 69 years of age. I have since built about 10 websites and I learn something new everyday.
We visit the Philippines to see our grand daughter in Argao. It is a beautiful country with so much potential.
