A New Earnings Maximum For My Site!
Today marks a new maximum from my website! The site did more than it did even before the affiliate percentage rates were reduced. I made the decision to publish posts on this site very slowly after it went down to making a whole $5 and then $4 in April and May, after covid hit. Miraculously this month, AFTER ADDING NO ADDITIONAL POSTS, than the thirty already added, the site did its highest amount in a month to date - $95.
The price point in this niche is about $10 to max $130 but one thing to note is that most sales come from people buying other things, most of which are not in my niche but related in some crazy way, while some things bought are not related at all. I think this is one of the advantages of a reasonable price point for the items you are promoting.
PEOPLE WILL BUY OTHER THINGS THROUGH YOUR AMAZON LINK...remember that ;) ;)
The truth is though, we really don't know what people will do, how much spending power people have, or what will happen in the future. All we can do is keep on keeping on. Add content to the site, is still the number one priority. In my case, I believe because the articles are ranking well and now have a bit of age, as your site will with time too, more eyes are landing on my site. (Actually google analytics proved that - I had about 1800 visits last month)
Anyway, in my last post, I said I was going to add articles slowly, and that I did, because I added none lol. Now I may have to change that plan again but we'll see. Life of a business owner I guess. Good luck to all of you!

You are so right that we never know what people do and they often buy something in addition to the item they got to through your link. I've experienced that too!

Thanks a mil Lenka. Yup, the fact is that once people click through to amazon and buy something else within 24 hrs, you get the commission. At least I believe it's still a 24 hr cookie with Amazon. In any case you're right, and it happens often once your site starts to get traffic. Thanks for commenting and all the best to you!

Hey EmakAmelia, thanks a mil for comments and your question. I want to be careful here. My site was started in 2017 summer. Then I went about five months before I posted the first article. I do not recommend you move as slow as me. You will get results alot faster if you do two posts or so per week. But in my case the articles that get the most traffic were written in late 2018 and 2019, but I have articles that were written in 2020 that are now number two or number one in google. In short what I am saying is, your case will be different but you won't know until you get some articles up. Aim for 50 articles. I learned alot from building this site about emotions. I did it all wrong, I would write and look for results then write another one and look for results - don't do that, write ten, then track results but keep writing and eventually the 80 / 20 rule will kick in. Stick to low hanging fruit keywords also. As your site ages Google will trust it more and more articles will rank. That is very important. Do not write based on initial ranking results of your articles. So do the writing now, and if you manage 2 posts per week for the next 6 months, you should begin to see some results.

My main website is coming to its 7th month mark. I have almost 100 posts on it. Got my first sales and referral last month. So your advice definitely is proven accurate (well in my situation, I know others could do it faster but it also depends on how competitive the niche is, the quality content, our consistency, etc). 😀
Once again thank you for sharing your tips. I am slowing down in my content creation lately because I feel I have enough content already. But I realize that's not the case. We need to keep at it because Google loves to see fresh quality content.

My first article was posted late 2017 or early 2018. I had a very busy second half of year with work in 2017. I bought the domain summer 2017. You can get these results with a domain that is a lot younger though, the key is to get the articles up on your site and let them ferment in the google results. No reason a site with 50 articles up in 6 months can't get these results if the keywords are low competition keywords.
