No Niche Ideas - How I Conquered This Problem

When I first started at WA 6 weeks ago, I did not have a clear idea of what niche I would like to work in. To be honest, I was overwhelmed with the information, and even intimidated by the fact that I needed to choose something specific. I have lots of interests: cooking, baking, gardening, organic foods, healthy eating, coconut oil benefits, dogs, cats, violets… My problem was I could not narrow down to just one. I get it, overtime I could potentially work in more than one niche. Still, I could not decide what niche to go with for now.

I was brainstorming different ideas for a niche. That’s when it hit me. I can go with my husband’s hobby. There is only one thing he is truly passionate about (besides his family, of course) – it is CARS. He is the type of person that people call motorhead. I knew it right away it would work because I feel very strongly about his passion. After all, he taught me everything a girl should know about cars: from driving to changing a flat tire :). I know first-hand how he feels about cars….

A website was born. It works for both of us. My husband writes content for our website. I generate new keywords/ideas for new posts and edit his articles. I also set up the website and do all of the publishing and technical work in the background.

It is amazing how things work out sometimes. While I was busy working on our first website, I came up with a niche for one of my passions. By focusing on something else, I was able to organize my thoughts, relax, and figure out what niche to pursue next.

We all come from different backgrounds and have different circumstances. This may not work for everyone. I wanted to share my experience hoping this will inspire those who feel stuck or need a little encouragement.

Your first niche does not have to be one of your passions. Think about your family and friends. What do they like? This is a great opportunity for families to work and learn together. Be passionate about helping others and ideas will come!

Great new angle on establishing a niche ... great idea to get out of your own self -block by focusing on another persons passion first ...do unto others is a great way to get unstuck personally !!!

Hi Donald,
Yes, I needed to look at the whole thing from a different prospective (or angle). Thank you for your comment!

Sorry, *perspective.

Well, all of your websites should be about a passion you have, but you have a built-in passionate person that can offer more than just encouragement; I think you did great and it is something that can grow!

You can go to cooking and baking healthy foods for your cat and dogs, later!

Yes, in my case, I am passionate about my husband's passion. Thank you for your comment, Mickey!
