Can I get some Logo Feedback?

My original logo is nearing 7 years old and something happened to my transparent background version which limits my ability to theme around colors outside white, blue, burgundy, and black I do have files for it. Thus an update is mandatory and the following images are what I came up with.

The first is a long-form logo for use in footer images or if I do display ads or watermark images.

The second image is now In use for the primary logo of the site and can be seen in action on my blog linked from my bio. Both use site header colors for the text.

What I am wondering most is are these images a good blend of old and new and do they sell the Side Hustle Incomes theme of my niche without over-selling.

I will gladly look at sites or logos of those giving me feedback, just DM your URL for a review.

I like the first more than the other. I was making my logo for more than 2 months! I was undecided, either.

Hi Andy, building a good logo is really a difficult task because we need to summarize the main VALUES of our brand in it throught a visual image.

I read some comments below and someone commented these versions look cartonish.
I agree somehow. For me, a good logo is very clean and simple, one symbol at most!

Think about Nike Logo, very simple but super effective.

I saw also the first version of your logo, and honestly I like it the more! If you need help with the background, let me know, I will clean it for you on Photoshop (for free of course!)

I suggest you to renew the first version logo: it looked more professional and communicate very well all your values!

Thank you, some people prefer older brands and their tri-color simplicity. Most of those logos were chosen out of print limitations that laser toner printing rendered a moot point. My core blue-collar audience though is attracted to beer logos and pizza boxes. They are the construction worker looking to ease an aching back, and the waitress looking to replace great tips with a little less time on those feet. I have no fear of hitting with my core avatar but appreciate very constructive and honest feedback.

That's an extremely useful exercise to draw a logo by figuring out your target avatar in mind!

As a graphic designer, when I need to START designing something new, I usually follow this process:

1. reserach of visual resources
2. create a moodboard (the images I liked the most and colors I intend to use)
3. sketch three or four versions
4. I leave some days to let my brain working freerly on ideas

Then magically the right image comes to my mind! So since you KNOW very well your target avatar, and you even imagined them sitting in a pub drinking beer after a long day of work, then you could search for pub images, or pizza box images and slowly arrive to a good visual which tells the right story!

Take your time to sketch some different ideas, and you will see in few days you will arrive to your own original ideas that will truly represent you and your brand!

The spelled out logo is great for letterhead or website header.

The moneybag logo is a great icon for a quick visual glance.

The use of those colors are part of your brand, and are identifiable even if you make any small adjustmenrs to your logo.

This pov is from the view of my cell, and if you want any further comments, Im more than happy to take a look on my computer when I return home.

Quite similar to my own opinions on these, one is great for a header image or use as a watermark fo example and the larger image is better on brandables and merchandise for example. Looking at the site now will show I had already made that selection even if to be changed later.

Ok, so based on any auggestions, what do you plan to do with these logos?

Have you come up with any ideas for any updating, or are you going to leave them as is?

Rudy

these were the updates the 2nd comment shows the original Neons

Did you want the same colors?

Did you want a new bersion

I appreciate the offer, but have done my own logos for nearly 20 of my 20 years in online business and 10+ offline. The exercise here is to get a range of feedback, refine if needed, and move forward.

Sure I’ll help I am good with logos

The big thing is it was time to move on from the tri-color logo of before but I do need to keep in mind I have Shop Income Legion which is going to have branded merchandise as well for our Affiliate related sayings and quotes. To that end the large logo goes better in to the scalability without affecting design on most designs we have.

For reference here is the old logo

Oh wow 🤩 that’s a winning logo! Why mess with success? This looks great and will even work non-color applications!

My original design was created several years ago and my transparent background was corrupted in my online backup with the originals on a computer lost in a RV Fire nearly 2 years ago. I have no means to replicate it or scale it at this time so a new logo is in order.

Photoshop and sketchmaster are your friends and you can we-capture the magic.(Unless you don’t own the design and that’s the real issue.)
Best wishes,
Casey

Where logos are concerned, consistency is key - to build trust in your company from customers. The first one ☝🏻 shown is better, the second one seems like
It could be useful for a thank you card image to send to customers - because it stays on your theme. It seems cartoonish-and too big to use as a standard logo .
Good luck- and best wishes,
Casey Keith

Thank you, so far I have received a private response in favor of the big logo and yours both with valid points. Alot also goes for logos based on industry. The big logo is not appropriate for example if your niche has to do with restaurants or legal offices but can be considered fun and passionate in other niches. I guess the question is do I wish to be young and playful or aim for a professional-level ideal reader?

Your customers are likely to be adults trying to make money- so building trust with them can be your priority. If you are inviting kids to a party- childish is preferred. Know your audience.

That was a bit rude, not all adults have a stick up their rumps. Many of us are fun and free spirits. I ask all to keep comments professional and agree to disagree because not all will ever share your views.

Sorry I was a bit hard in my comeback I just want everyone's opinions to matter in a space friendly to that and the insult at those who don't agree with you was counter productive to that meant or not.

Nothing Wrong With Either Of Them, I Like Them Both, The Letter Logo Is What I Was Looking For To Use On My Site. I Think You Do Amazing Work..

Thanks I appreciate that.
