Victory Log

I keep a victory log near my computer and chart my progress on WA. I jot down my little achievements and note the date and the milestone reached. Then I celebrate with my friends and family

There are times that we all get down on ourselves and I am no different, that is why I started keeping a victory log right by my computer. I need daily reminders that I am leaning a lot and I am progressing through the training. Those little entries help.

On the days that I am feeling low, I can go back pull out my Victory Log and look to see how far I’ve come.

There is a lot to learn and I do feel more confident about becoming an Affiliate Marketer in a niche that I absolutely love.

I am on lesson 10 course 2, where Kyle gives his congratulatory speech and reminds you how far you’ve come and what you have learned. I appreciate the vote of confidence from Kyle and the rest of the group.

I really appreciate all who have answered my questions and gave words of encouragement on my journey so far. We need words of support during this training from time to time… and it is quite the journey isn’t it?

Heck, I did not even know what affiliate marketing was until a few weeks ago. I did not know about fields such as SEO copywriting, site audits, and web writing until a few months ago and I would like to pursue those niches as well. I heard that they can be very lucrative.

When it came to the internet, the only thing I knew how to do was set up an email account and look at Facebook. I am being serious!!! No computer internet background at all!! I never started a business so I’ll add lack of "entrenprenueral experience" to my list too.

Now I have started to build my first website whhoo hoo!! For me that is an achievement. I've got friends and family talking about site already.

I know it’s going to be awhile before I feel confident that I can help someone else along this path after all I am still learning too and I have-not reached the final goal. But, I will do my best.

I should be happy with the knowledge that I have gained and continue to gain. Just think how much I am going to learn in the next few weeks, months and years!!

So maybe just maybe I can achieve my goals.

Never stop Learning

Trust yourself

All things are possible

Yes I can

Think positive

My Concerns

I have to be honest I still have questions and concerns. I am sure all of you understand.

Did I pick the right niche?

Is my writing good enough for my audience?

Did I build my site right?

Did I use the keyword search tools effectively?

Will I convert visitors to costumers?

Bottom line: Will I succeed and match my part-time income and maybe more? Will I become a competent affiliate marketer?

Here’s an interesting statistic. Most people give up on a new endeavor after 3 months of training. Whatever it might be. A diet plan or a fitness program or something else.

Why?

People find out that achieving the goal is not as easy as they thought or they brought into the hype that anybody can do this without hard work.

They start off with a Gung Ho attitude, (me included), do all the drills, complete the assignments, stick to a set schedule and continue to progress until…….Mr. Doubt shows up.

Oh no.... Mr. Doubt!!!

You know who he is. It’s that little voice that resides in your head and starts feeding you negative messages. He looks over your shoulder and makes nasty comments, or asking you rude questions. His messages are relentless. I am sure that some of you have heard them before.

Comments like:

“Hmm.. do you think that a person like you, with no experience, no computer or technical background, no sales or marketing experience can do this?” Really? Get Real! The odds are against you!!! You are an expert at nothing!! There are just too many people out that have more skills and training than you do. What are you thinking!!!."

(I am plagued by these thoughts from time to time so I have to keep it positive.)

You get the idea. Mr. Doubt is merciless in his attack and sets out to sabotage all efforts. Maybe there are people in your life that don’t understand what you are doing and they join in on the attack or worse they just don’t support you at all!! They just roll their eyes up and shake their heads. “What a loser”

So there you are all alone in your room, looking at your computer screen wondering, hoping “Can you do this?”

You start believing the messages “Yeah, you are right Mr. Doubt, the competition is too much, I have no expert knowledge I might as well cut my losses and give up now!!! Where is the assurance that I can succeed?

Where’s the hope?

Well there are some things that you can do to combat these thoughts and negative messages.

1. Reassess your goals. Imagine what is your life going to look like in a few weeks, years from now. Picture yourself achieving those goals: who is with you? What place are you in? Are your bills paid off? Can you proudly tell people what you are doing now?

2. Have a conversation with your “future successful self”. What kind of advice would your “future successful self” give to your “present self”. Have him send you an email in the future congratulating you on a job well done!! Maybe he had his doubts before he attained success. (I believe there is some kind of app where you can send a future email to yourself. If nothing else the email might give you a laugh.)

3. Surround yourself with like-minded people who are on the same journey you are on. I know that this website does not encourage people to give out personal information but maybe WA can provide a way for people who live near each other to start a group. Sometimes even with a supportive internet community, feelings of alienation can be overwhelming. It can be helpful to "see" and interact with people that are on this journey too.

If that is not possible there are groups of people that are affiliated with internet marketing. Pursue any and all networking activities in your area, pass out cards, make contact with people. Attitudes are contagious. Find attitudes that are worth catching.

Bottom line: No one is alone on this journey and though it might feel that way rest assured that we all have these feelings time to time. I have learned to reach out to the community and I have always found someone who could answer my question or provide me with a training video.

I believe the way to success is to believe that you can achieve anything that you put your mind to no matter what skills you have as long you are willing to work hard. The human mind is an amazing tool you just have to feed it the right messages and the mind can learn anything.

Thanks everybody for your support on my journey!! I wish you all the best!! And I plan to keep in touch with all of you.

We all need help even the great ones got help from someone.

Continued success to you.

You can send me a message any time and I'll do my best to help where I can. Even if I don't have the answer I know where we can recruit some expert advice.

Keep well,

Brian

Hi Thomas, a great progress report. Your like many other n this journey coming with little or no experience in this field.

Your feelings and thoughts about Mr Doubt is very normal to show up. The fear of failure is part of the mental toughness training to overcome. This journey will be a series of victories and failures abd lessons to overcome and grow from. Isn’t that way with most things when taking on knew challenge. These lessons of failures are the teachers to grow from in our skills we are learning. I’ve done my share of these type of lessons in life to grow from.

Continue to be encouraged and press forward.
