Feel like I'm drowning now :(
I started off so enthusiastic about 2 months ago! Only now I feel like I'm drowning. I try to keep up with classes and posts and try to learn about SEO and all this stuff... I'm totally overwhelmed. I haven't finished a class in over 2 weeks, trying to build my site.
Now I truly feel stuck as I'm trying to wrap my head around all these terms and what-not. Keywords, meta-descriptions, internal linking (I wouldn't know where to) and whatever else should be good but probably is not on my site as I don't understand a lot of these things. So, I'm really struggling, and feel like giving up. I've written two posts but I still have the 'under construction' page running as I think it's not worth visiting my site now.
I'm trying to find things on WA-website, for example, a list of all the terms that everyone is using and that I don't get. Or I have a vague idea what it might be, but not sure. I'm probably stupid as I don't see these questions anywhere from other people. I feel really sad, worthless. and lonely...

Hello Ilya, I understand perfectly how you feel. I felt the same way when I started and made up my mind to go through it "a step at a time.

I think we all go through what you're feeling right now. I know I did when starting out here...it's a lot to learn and it takes time so don't feel bad. As for keywords, SEO, and well, pretty much everything it took me a long time to really know what they meant. Don't worry, it'll eventually get easier the more you work at it.
I'd focus on one step at a time in the training, and if you happen to get stuck on something don't feel stupid asking questions, we're all here to help. Others here probably do have the same questions as well.
Sometimes it helps to go back over the lessons again if it's not clear the first time going over it. At least, it did for me. I'd find something I missed often times too.
As long as you keep working at it and don't give up. Some days it's best to take a break for awhile and go do something else if you're feeling overwhelmed. Come back to it again once you've rested.
Anyways, like others here have said, it's not a race. We all get there at our own time. Even one small step each day is one more closer to our goal!

Thanks a lot for the encouraging words and links. I'll add them to the list... That's one of the overwhelms. I have a zillion links to read and do, I feel it'll take about 3 years to read 'm all and in the meantime, the list only gets longer 🙈 .
But everybody's probably right. I'll try to keep afloat for the time being at least.

You're very welcome. Lol, I know the feeling all too well. I'd put most of my focus on completing the main training here first and check those out when you can...the main training is the key, but the rest helps to improve things.
It took me forever to get it done the first time, as I only had a couple hours, if that, every day to work on my sites then. But as long as you can get even one small thing done each day or when you can, you'll get there!

Also, click on the picture of each person you are talking with to go to their profiles. Once there, there should be a link listed under their profile pictures to their site(s). Click and check them out for some good ideas to implement on your site. You may even enjoy the theme someone else is using on their site and may feel it's a great fit for your niche. :)
I'm the biggest procrastinator, and everyone here obviously has experience handling my sort. I'm still here. :) I'm not through with all the levels yet either IIya. Take your time and more will make sense to you as you get each lesson out of the way.
You can also hit the "Customize" button from your dashboard to go through all the changeable buttons and menus. Turn one on, see how it looks, then turn it back off. Experiment. If you feel you messed up while changing things, DON'T hit the publish button. Just hit the "X" and it will abort all the changes.

I actually have been on the lookout for other members websites to see what they are up to, but yours is the first profile I see it. People here seem secretive about them for some reason... But I'll keep clicking to see if anybody else shares them.
The customize thing is behind me, and I'm glad. Still waiting for the fun feeling though. At the moment it still feels like a chore.

I don't want my site to be cluttered, in that I mean.. 5 or 6 pages of unending story telling. If ever you want to bore me, and to cause me to lose interest, create a main page that goes on and on and on. :)

Keep it simple. heheh. They have their reasons for keeping the sites "secretive", at least, for now. They want it fully implemented and online with all the search engine crawls BEFORE letting others see them because they don't want others to cheat off them before they get the word out. :)
I picked a niche that is HIGHLY competitive, so if they all want to cheat off me, go for it. There are plenty of forthcoming sites coming from my end (and I won't list them all..heheh.. Thhuubbttt!!!) Still, one does have to keep competitive if they want to make it is this cloak and dagger world.

and we all go through the same feeling.
Everybody here started like you did and
all of us went through the same thing.
What I can recommend is this. Please do
take your time. If you felt overwhelmed,
just stop, take a breather and if you have
to take a nap, do so.
Our brain needs rest from all of the settings
that are going on and the exposure would be
too much to absorb.
It is not a rush and it is your own time and
effort that you are using so you do have the
control of them.
Ask as many questions as you need them
and never be embarrassed to ask questions
otherwise you would not get the answers
you needed.

Hi Ilya. I felt the same way and still do at times. I joined mid February of 2021 so I am very new at this. My advise to you is to focus on the training and the writing. You can become extremely overwhelmed with all the emails of blogs. Pick and choose the ones you want to read and disregard the rest. I know that sounds harsh but I was reading all of them in the beginnining and felt I wasn't progressing at all on my website.
If you have technical questions, ask site support. You find that by clicking on website at the top bar and then scroll down to site support. They are very helpful and respond very quickly. If they don't answer your question, ask one of us. We'll be happy to help and if I can't I'll refer you to someone.
As far as the terms, yes they are overwhelming too. I still don't know what they all mean. Try googling them and see if the explanation makes sense. If not, ask us.
Take it one step at a time. It takes awhile to get anywhere here. But I guarantee, once you keep improving and moving on you will be very proud of yourself.
I knew nothing about this, but am learning new things everyday. Be patient with yourself. It will work!!
