I have formatted some of the content in my web pages as tables. However, while some fit easily, other tables overlap with the widget area on the right. How can I fix this?
P
Click on the table to select it, then click on the "Table" settings icon in the Block Toolbar.
In the "Table Settings" panel, select the "Columns" tab.
Use the drag handle to adjust the width of each column as needed. or enter a specific width value in the "Width" field.
Update changes.

its looking ok on desktop for me - but when i goto a mobile emulator then it is too wide...
why not format each animal as a section then they will display well on both desktop and mobile...
remove the table completely...
What I have found in WordPress is that you don't have much control over tables. You can choose header & footer sections, fixed width, text size, solid background colors, or gradient. There might be plugins that will give you more controls, but I am unaware of them and haven't used anything but WordPress.
I think the reasoning is so they can be appropriately displayed on all devices.
Good luck.

How do you create tables and align content in the tables?
You may try TablePress
Or you may check
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/table-block/
Here's a good tutorial with images on how to.
www.elegantthemes (dot) com/blog/wordpress/table-block
The WordPress editor has this natively, called a Table Block, or you can install a plugin to create more visually appealing tables.
you will have access to table and column blocks within the editor in your site....
the alignment is normally within the contextmenu that pops up when editing the block...
don't worry about getting the images exactly in the place you want them as what i see on my monitor will differ to what you see in layout...
concentrate on the words and helping people find the answers they are seeking....
