Time Management

Here I am blogging about my trouble, and it might make for a good topic. That is time management. I keep trying to work on my site and do keyword and product research and it seems I end up in an endless loop of non productive online time.

What do other people do to solve this problem?

I am going to be away at my workplace for a couple of weeks with limited internet access, so I am thinking to focus on writing and not use social media. I write a sceduale and plan, set a timer for 15 minutes whenever I open email or social media. But this is when it gets me the worst, is when I do product or keyword research, I get sidetracked by looking at other niche websites along with the numbers of competiton sites....

Have you had these issues? How did you get a grip on spotting when you went from actual productive research to surfing and get yourself back on track? I am several months into my serious WA education and my progress is slower than I had hoped, and I am pretty sure this pesky little problem is the culprit.

Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks

Great blog Rena - hello sister! I had days where I couldn't believe I managed to spend all day online and make zero progress- I seem to have so many sites and links saved that I intend using but never go back to! I know discipline is the answer but I am not a good discipline person. A list is definitely a great start - that way research (or browsing!) can be one of your items but LAST on the list. Another tip someone wrote about recently was turning the space around you PC or laptop into a 'working/office area' - no distractions etc - that way you are in work mode before sitting down - this seems to help focus on the task ahead. Good luck!

Here's what I do, do not answer to anyone until you finish your daily tasks for the day for your website. Make a list and make sure that by the time that you are done, that everything is checked off on the list, then you can socialize. Or you can try multitasking if you think that you would be good at it. Just don't get yourself too hooked on this or get sidetracked :D
