I live in Manitoba. You are based in BC. I'm sure you must have expenses in Canadian Dollars. If I pay for my membership in US dollars, I get a surcharge put on my credit card.
Payment for membership in canadian dollars?

Hi Hugo, great to hear from you. Yes as you mentioned all prices for WA memberships are in USD. Your credit card will make the conversion for you to Canadian dollars but we do not have a currency converter to charge you in CAD unfortunately.
The USD to CAD is low right now so a great time to upgrade!

Thanks for letting me know. I just wanted to avoid that wretched surcharge from the credit card company for using US dollars.

Wealthy Affiliate is a Canadian company, it would make sense as someone living in Canada to pay my membership fees and other expenses in Canadian dollars, so that I don't incur
Hi, Hugo. Yes, you can. They will give you the corresponding amount to pay in Canadian dollars!
I'm not to sure why they use US dollars. It could be because it's considered the benchmark currency around the world. In the end it would make no difference to me as I'm an Aussie and would still be paying the fees. Jim
For Americans paying in $US, it is fine for them because they will not incur foreign transaction fees. However, I'm sure some of WAs costs will be in $CDN. So operating part of the business in $CDN would be beneficial to WA. I can't see the point in converting the currency from $CDN to $US and then back to $CDN. Only the banks benefit. For other countries who do not operate in $US or $CDN foreign transaction fees will be unavoidable.
They always collect us dollars from me, however what you're saying makes sense too.
You can also use Paypal.
Do let me know if you need anything else. Have a nice day.
hi Hugo ... super question and all questions are good ones here....
a number of members have raised a similar or same question in the past ... as the internet operates internationally all around the world, any and all financial transactions on the net were pegged to the USD many many moons ago (last century) ....
in the process of researching the origins of how all this began, I, couldn't find anything on it ... apparently, it was some business decision made during the 80s .....
so perhaps. others may have a better answer on why this situation is where it is currently ...
let's see .... thanks kindly for making this query ... :)

I use Thunderbird instead of webmail Domain Specific WA Site Email Using Thunderbird free
Thanks for this information. I will certainly investigate. It looks like good news for me because Thunderbird is already installed on my Linux system. Furthermore, Firefox is my main browser. I will attempt to get set up shortly. Be sure I will let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help.

I want the user to click on a word that will download an audio file in mp3 format. When I link the word to the audio file, it plays the file. I don't want it to play the file,
After asking the question, I did some research and found an answer: See my blog post entitled:
Code for allowing a user to download an audio file as opposed to just playing it online
I hope this is helpful.
