Hi everyone and welcome to my first post as a new WA member.
I have only signed up today and already found several problems which are making me think twice about parting with 50 bucks/month to become a full member.
Go on convince me!The first issue that I have is in using Wordpress. It’s OK and easy to set up but I have been designing websites for many years now and prefer to have more freedom to choose how I build and manage my website.It seems that I cannot do this with Wealthy Affiliate which I find a bit limiting.There are many companies which will provide hosting for only a few dollars/month which have no such restrictions. Many include Wordpress in the package at no extra charge if needed.
Standard replies and comments deletedThe second thing that bothered me was a reply from Kyle to a question which I put on my profile. The answer was clearly a standard template which had nothing to do with the original question. My response to this has since been deleted and it seems that negative comments are not welcome here.In addition an answer from another member to one of my questions has also been deleted.
There are other issues which I might discuss in future if I’m not thrown out for speaking my mind. For the time being the problems mentioned above seem a good reason for me not to part with any money. Wealthy Affiliate seems like a good place to be but I’ve yet to be convinced of it’s benefits.

There are many benefits to the premium membership here. Aside from hosting, unlimited websites you can build and access to all of the classrooms, the affiliate program is what really sealed it for me. Also if you go into the editor of your Wordpress website, you should be able to design the site with HTML or CSS however you wish.
I don't know if this will convince you, but I have been a premium member since 2013. I wouldn't have stayed if I didn't think the premium membership was worth it.
But that's just my two cents :)
Thanks Nessa but unfortunately I am not convinced by your long term membership. It only suggests to me that you are afraid to break away from WA having spent a ton of money. The making money online niche has to be one of the hardest to sell and succeed in and I think new members should not be encouraged to attempt it. How can you hope to sell something when you have no experience on a subject you know nothing about?
I think that deceiving people into thinking they can earn money online from that is very cruel and just gives them false hope.
There seems to be many such victims here who are too afraid to give up in case they miss the winning post.

Ultimately, you must follow your instincts on whether this will be a community that you feel comfortable with.
Yes, if you have lots of website building experience, you may prefer to stay with your own hosting package. WA's is ideal for a person with no experience building websites. I have some websites hosted here at WA. I have some over another host with c-panel access.
To me, WA's affiliate marketing training will be hard to beat unless you already have years of experience building and maintaining a successful affiliate marketing website.
Not all people choose to participate in the community. I personally do not like to follow people that are extremely confrontational. That simply is not what I want to fill my mind with each day.
So, regardless of what you decide. I wish you the best.

The main thing that concerns me is the suppression of comments here which seems a little dishonest. If I cannot publish my opinion without fear of upsetting someone then WA is not for me. I prefer things to be more transparent.
