To Forget What I Thought I Knew
Just sat in on an onliine interview with Hanoch Piven an award-winning illustrator and creative “instigator” You probably have seen his work on the cover of a magazine and did not realize who created it. Just google his name and I think you will be truly surprised.
During the interview he stated, “We are slaves of our brain” adding a quote from the French Poet Paul Valéry “To see is to forget the name of the thing we are looking at.” In other worlds to be creative is to be able to forget what we think we know and look at it from a different perspective.
Recent changes with Amazon Affiliate program have thrown many of us into a dilemma. One of my sites deals with Hydroponics – growing Veggies to be specific, not the other stuff. What to do, what to do? Thank goodness for the WA tools – I have gone back to the drawing board and opened my mind to take a hard look at what my competition is doing and how I can do better.
I have been involved in the Internet and building websites since the late 1990’s – yes, I am one of those more whiter than gray old birds. I actually know what format C:/fs:ntfs means and does.
Today while doing Site Comments I found a post on the creative use of Pinterest. I have been a Facebook Ad guy for many years and thought I knew everything that there was about promotion, until I read this post. It truly opened my mind to new ways and ideas.
To forget what I thought I knew, to see a promotional approach that is quite different than what I have been doing, is a major shift for me and very exciting.
Thanks, WA, for the resources that I can explore, discover and try along my journey.

Most days I find that I am learning something new, I hope that never stops. I hope this new promotional approach will prove to be worthwhile for you.
So what could be the worst thing that could happen? At least I will have another promotional technique in my tool bag. I hope that you have a great day.
You too Steve and you're absolutely right.
We have to try these things else we just stand still or go backwards.
