Use SiteContent to Motivate Yourself to Write
Do You Find it Difficult to Motivate Yourself to Write ?
I know what it is like to set out with all the best intentions to make a go of your website, start out with a hiss and a roar determined that you will write a post a week (or whatever your lofty ambition is...) and after a month find that you always have other things to do and that you will get onto the post 'tomorrow' or 'next week', but then you put it off again and a month or 2 go by and you haven't updated your site.
Well if you haven't discovered the SiteContent tool yet then go and check it out now. I know it has been out for a little while but I only discovered it recently and love how it enable me to prepare pages and posts for any of my sites outside of the actual Wordpress platform. While it doesn't have all of the functionlity of preparing your pages and posts within Wordpress, if you are only going to be writing, adding images or linking to other sites / pages then it does everything you need it to do.
What I find great about SiteContent is the analytics, how it lets you set some writing targets and actually track them and especially how it tallies up the words you have written and ranks you compared to all other WA members. Now being someone who is motivated by wanting to do slightly better than the rest and to improve my performance in relation to everyone else I find the ranking meter especially useful.
I started off writing a page, followed by another and another, very quickly I had written more than 60% of WA members (in SiteContent), so I made the effort to get up to 65%, 70%, and now 90%. When I check in and see my ranking has slipped a little it motivates me to write another page or post and try and return to or better the position I was in before.
So if you haven't been using SiteContent, go and give it a try and see if you can work your way up the ranks of prolific writers.....
