Last Step To A More Perfect Post or Page
This is the last post on ideas to edit your writing. Hope the information has helped. I use it more whenever I am writing a novel, but it works for posts and pages in my blog as well.
Here Goes
13. Check Pronoun Antecedents
Most common mistake is the pronoun disagrees with its antecedent.
Make it a point to check each pronoun on one of your edit trips.
Check to be sure the pronoun agrees in number with its antecedent.
Ex. Each student should submit an example of their work.
14. Add Examples and Context
Good writing moves up and down the ladder of abstraction and cites examples from other times and places. If you are discussing fifty's furniture, you might mention kidney-shaped coffee tables. If you're writing about today's politically charged talk-show hosts, you might note that Father Coughlin put plenty of political vitriol on the air in the 1930's.
15. Work With Your Nouns
Voltaire said, "The adjective is the energy of the noun."
Find just the right noun so adjectives aren't necessary.
Ex. Burned-out ship replaced with hulk.
Mark Twain wrote, "If you can catch an adjective, kill it."
16. Chronological Order
Although extremely elementary, be sure your article is in the proper time mode. I've had many writers have things happening to which they haven't referred previously.
17. Verbs And Nouns Must Agree In Number
Plural nouns usually end in "S" while singular verbs in the present tense end in "S."
18. Stay Focused On Your Intended Purpose
19. Keep The Main Point The Main Point
20. Find Someone To Read Your Post

You're using all those scary words from English class, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, and verbs, and it's not even Halloween yet. Now I am going to have nightmares!
Thanks for your lists. It has reminded me of how much I still need to learn about writing and good grammar. Now, off to slay that evilness.
