I have a business site where I sell products and services. I already own my domain name. Would I use that site as my affiliate site, or would it make more sense for me to have
You don't need to move it here you can keep it where it is and put what you learn to practice on it. As its already getting traffic you can re-focus that into other monetized streams. You can also move it here as you are getting FREE hosting with your profile.
The package here is mainly setup to work with wordpress sites and is optimized for them if you have it built on another platform it may be more optimized where it is. You could ask the support team here how they can host it for you here and if any problems would be likely.
Hi. If you wanted to bring your domain to WA and have it hosted here, that is certainly possible. It would be your affiliate website. Otherwise, you would need to come up with a niche and create an affiliate site from the start. I'd probably consider moving my already existing website, as it would be less work. It's basically up to you! :) Michelle
Thanks Michelle! I've paid for 6 months already. Would that make a difference? Also, how would my shopping cart be affected?
You mean you have paid someone else to host your site for 6 more months? If that is the case, you probably wouldn't want to just throw that $ away and move it here. Again, that is up to you. I see that you are already a premium member here at WA, so hosting your website is included.
You'll have to explain about your shopping cart. I don't see how it would be affected.
Yes. My website is through Weebly and I purchased my domain name www.hopeseavers.com from them for 6 months. I have about 4 months left. My shopping cart is through Weebly as well. Although most of my product sales are local, I have an e-commerce site with the intention of going global:-)
This all sounds different from WordPress here. I think I'd leave that website alone, as it probably wouldn't benefit you to move it right now.
Are you planning on starting a new website here then?

What if I have a website outside of wa?

Update:
I was able to move my site to Name Cheap quite easily. It took a few days, but other than that, the process was smooth. I'm working out a few kinks with the WordPress platform, but I have my products up and I'm filling out my content. Thanks for the support:)
