Quick and Simple Way to Push Your Site Up On Google

Firstly thanks for taking the time to read this blog post. I hope you find it useful, particularly the newbies in SEO as some of the more experienced may already be aware of this tip.

What I'm going to talk about is a very simple method to move your site up in the rankings on Google. I've tried it a couple of days ago on my blog and it works. However, this only applies to certain situations with the Google SERP (search engine results page, for those who don't know).

So here's how it works.

Sometimes when you find some big brands ranking on Google page one for your targeted search terms and they have multiple listings, be sure to check out those pages that are being ranked. Most of the time they will not be relevant to the search term in question.

In my case, i searched for a long tail, information based search term that i was targeting and found that on the first page Google was ranking product pages and product category pages from a big brand's website multiple times. These pages had no information about the search term and it seems like the rankings are there mainly because of their brand strength.

What you simply do is scroll to the bottom of the SERP, and use the 'Send Feedback' link to notify Google of it. You will get a popup window where you can fill in a brief description about the issue. This is why it's a good idea to click on the listings first and visit the pages.

You can then highlight the listings on the page and submit it to Google.

I have found that they act on it fairly quickly (a couple of days). And in my case, my blog was hovering around the bottom of page 2. After Google improved the first page rankings by removing the multiple rankings, my blog has now moved up to the top of page two. With a few more tweaks to my content, i'll be hitting page one very soon.

So next time you're in this situation hit that "Send Feedback" link and help Google improve their first page results and your website will also benefit from it.
