Start Writing Bad Content Today! - So You Can Write Great Content Tomorrow!
Why I’m going to write some really bad content today.
I’m going to choose a few topics today and I’m going to write. I have tons of things I can write about. Things that I know about, have expertise in, and am kinda passionate about. I have things to write about that I have learned over the years and researched - things that I have gone to school for. You get the idea, eh. I have a lot to write about.
So why, yes why, am I not writing great content every day?
Well that’s easy. Because I am too hung up on writing great content. I want to have the perfect heading and it has to have a fantastic keyword in the title while being catchy, intriguing and relevant.
I want to have a couple thousand words or at least one thousand and that is really intimidating. I know that I know some stuff but a thousand words it a lot.
I really want to make sure I have some great images to insert into my writing. I want the images to be clever and unique. Of course they have to be relevant (not like a #2 pencil with shavings around it).
And also, I want the headers to be the right size and the images to be the right size and the spacing to be appropriate.
Don’t even talk to me about links!
Clearly I have to have some relevant links. Ideally to some really great content that I have written previously. Content with an awesome call to action that sends folks to my creative and amazing landing page where they will sign up for my email list and news letter and ebook (that I haven’t created yet).
Perfection! That’s what I want!
So why am writing bad content today?
Today I am going to write some really bad content because if I get the words and thoughts down then they are there. I have some ideas. I have some content. That’s it - I have some content. And some content is better than no content.
Tomorrow is a new day and I will take that really bad content and I will add images and links and I will spell check and adjust the spacing. And you know what? Maybe by the end of tomorrow I will have some pretty good content for my website.

Oh, so YES, YES, YES to this! I've taken copywriting training, and the one thing they keep hammering into your head is to write EVERY day! It doesn't have to be worthy of Ernest Hemingway or Stephen King. It just has to be written.
As you say, bad writing is better than no writing. That's why the concept of the first draft exists.
So churn out that stinking pile of crap today! You can always dowse it with rose scented water in later drafts.
