Why was our article not indexed?
Usually, our articles are indexed on the same day of publishing. Sometimes even within an hour. Yet, 3 weeks ago we published an article that just wouldn't get indexed.
I inspected it every other day on SearchConsole and sometimes applied another time for indexing. No luck.
Yesterday Tom (my husband, who wrote the article) changed the title. I applied for indexing, and lo and behold, it is indexed.
I don't know the reason. There are several possibilities, I guess. The title was: Is the World Waking up to the Truth about Food? and the slug was /the-truth-about-food/
The title is changed now to Conventional Farming versus Organic Farming: the Unfair Comparison.
Maybe the word truth is the culprit. Or the title interferes with a book which is called The truth about food". (There actually are several books called that way).
Anyway, I am glad that changing the title helped, so I thought I'd tell you.
Would you know another reason why it didn't get indexed?

I am currently experiencing similar issues with indexing posts for both Google and Bing.
However, usually, posts get indexed almost immediately; now, we seem to be put into a queue waiting and waiting.
I did figure that perhaps they changed their structure of indexing posts?

I have the impression they did change something a couple of months ago and from then on my articles were indexed quickly, except this one. That's why this not-indexing was so strange. :)

Very interesting. I’ve also had success from republishing old posts. Something about Google seeing the site as more active.

Hi Dave, I can imagine that is an aspect. Yet, I publish 3 articles, sometimes 4 each week. Every article, published after that one, was indexed the ordinary way.

I hate to say it but Google is gone woke mad and is censoring people. They do not like words like "truth". I had 17 of my blogs that they did not index. No errors, but no explanation. They were not flattering to the big tech or progressive left.

China has been sharing its systems of social control and technology with Big Tech Here, especially over the last 3 months now that we no longer seem to be on opposite sides.
Now our headlines alone are enough to trigger red flags in their system and who is going to stop them?
You can take it for what it's worth but I think we will see more and more of this in 2021. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube have been doing this for years. Google owns Youtube and they think they own the internet.
Our government knows about it, caught it, and had a dog and pony show with Facebook in Congress which should have let everyone know that we are on our own when it comes to big tech and what they can and will do.
That is because our government has been doing the same thing.
I will not quit writing or speaking up and If I must, I will use other alternatives to get traffic.
The worst thing to do would be to back off and be silent for fear of losing money.
And no person is too small or too obscure for these people to censor.
