Brand New Running Shoes

Do you ever get that feeling of excitement when you start something new? For me it's the feeling that I get when buying a brand new pair of running shoes. But here's the problem: I don't wear them right away because I want to keep them brand spanking new, so I keep them in the box. But why??? Why am I doing this? I was telling my husband that I wanted to start my own blog and I've mentioned it several times. One day, he told me about Wealthy Affiliate and signed me up for it as a birthday gift. It all sounded amazing but I was too busy daydreaming about the concept of having a blog. I wasn't putting in the work or effort to make it happen. I suppose I could say that Wealthy Affiliate was my "brand new running shoes" that I wanted to keep in a box - until now.

Trying to Fly Before Taking Off

I'll be honest with you, I felt that the training was so slow I jumped ahead of myself. If you knew me I'm the type of person who wants to fly before learning to take off from the ground. I was getting frustrated because I didn't know how to do alot of the things like adding an image, or publishing content, or adding a page on the menus tab. Finally, I told myself to slow down to do things properly otherwise I would be getting no where. Now here I am!

Never Have I Ever

Never have I ever imagined myself with my own website, my own domain, my own blog, my own online business! I've had a 9-5 job for ten years and I have been itching to use my creativity to its fullest potential.

I recently had my second baby, so naturally my niche is on motherhood and family. In addition to this I will be incorporating lifestyle as a mom, food and recipes for the busy mom, and product reviews. I only published two posts on my blog (besides About Me and the Privacy Page!) but I believe that this is a start to infinite opportunities. Never have I ever imagined myself creating content and sharing it with the world.

The 3 Things I Do with WA Training

Whatever you do, pace yourself and don't make the same mistake I did by jumping ahead with the training. Here's what I did and still do:

1. Listen to each training video and make a job aids on it - I look back at it if I need to.
2. Ask lots of questions if you're stuck on something - the WA community is very helpful!
3. Put what you've learned into practice right away otherwise you will forget how to do it.

Let's Do This!

My goal for the next few months is to ensure that my blog website has the appropriate images and the look that I want. I plan to publish keyword rich content weekly/biweekly to gain as much traffic as possible so that I can get ranked in Google. In addition to this I will be marrying my blog website with my other social media accounts as well. Holding myself accountable to my goals will help me work my butt off!
