How much can you do in two weeks?

The title of my post is not just a rhetoric question, I actually would like to know.

How it all started

You see, my daughter is accusing me of being 'obsessed' with WA. I just see it as working hard to stablish a new path as an online entrepreneur.

But as it is very unlikely that either of us will give in on our view, ( stubbornes runs in the family you see), I need your input. I will talk here about what I think I have achieved during my first two weeks here at WA, and you can sort of 'vote' for whom is right, my daughter or me. Of course, you are also able to disagree with both of us and put your own point of view across. Just one thing I ask, do not ignore us, we really need your help deciding this.

The facts of the obsession: the websites

Here I go then, what have I achieved so far? Well, I have started two new websites. Yes you read correctly, two. Why you might wonder. I explain, firstly I started the Level 1 course by pressing the green button as instructed, and set to start theiceskatingcoach.com a dream of mine for quite a long time now.

Then, when it arrived to the lesson where it advices that if you do not have aniche you could follow the boot amp route again, I felt curious. I did have a niche already, I didn't needed to start the bootcamp. It was, after all suggested for those without a niche, not me. But curiosity was stronger and I started to do it in parallel to the normal certification one. I especulated that I still could learn some other stuff that I could incorporate on my niche website. All very well until it arrived to the potential markets lesson. Then I reLised that I did actually had another potential market, a group of people that I had helped in the past, and that now, thanks to the internet, and WA, I could help in a bigger scale! That is how the website howtomakemoneyforuniversity.siterubix.com born.

And more facts: the certification courses

So, where am I right now? I am just finishing the last lesson on the Certification Level 2 ( writing this is one of the tasks), and on Lesson 7 of the first level of the Bootcamp. Their corresponding websites are more or less as developed as they supposed to be if you take action on each task and do not cheat. That means, I have made the purpose myself of not moving to the next lesson until I had ticket all the tasks on the lesson. And of course, not to tick the task unless I have actually completed it. You see, I have accumulated more than 20 years experience as a teacher / lecturer/ professor or whatever you want to call it. And this experience has told me is that the teacher can only help you so far, if you do not do the work, you waste your time, and the teachers time on the way too. I appreciate my time and that of others, so I am not going to waste it!

The old, the new, and the challenge

If you have a look at my new websites, you will see that sometimes they have a little more than what it was said to do in class. I admited it, at times I have been carried away. I started creating websites at its very beginings when you need to know raw HTML ( the language in which web pages are written); but I have not created one for a while now, mainly because I was teaching students how to write the plugins instead. So, developing websites the easy way, i.e. using WordPress was not natural to me, nor I even dreamed of. I would be frown uppon by my former colleagues and perhaps some of my students. But as I am not here to lear programming, but to learn internet marketing, why complicated my life programming my own websites from scratch when I can take advantage of the tools available to get there? So I have learned to use the content management system that is WordPress for my advantage and that of those i am trying to help. Something else to tick to my list of achievements in these two weeks.

As the lessons have been happening, and I have been engaging on the discussions, other peoples questions have come to my attention and I have tried to answer them if I can, ofher times just give encouragement, accept that I do not know the answer, and try yo learn when eventually someone else gives an answer. Doing this has brought new achievements, not only my rank on the Ambassadorship rank table has rocketted up to 483 as I am writing this post, but I have built a network of like minded people in the process. I have also gained many followers which I do really appreciate and hope will learn something from me in the same way I learn from those I follow.

What I should not forget

Have I forgotten something? Well of course, I have learned an awful lot about how online internet marketing works, got myself a gravatar ( and learned what one of those things are, the equivalent of avatars on the games communities); got more involved on Google + ( now I got a few people on my community or whatever they called over there, and updated my profile so Google trusts me more).

What have still to achieve, way much more than what I have achieved, that is for sure, but I am working on it.

What would I like to have achieved by the end of one year here at WA, well, I would like to finish the Certification course and the Bootcamp, all levels!; help a lot of people inside and outside the WA community; have a bigger circle of friends; be an almost full-time online entrepreneur; achieve the top 200 batch from the Ambassador program; and of course, make it to the Las Vegas trip!

And the Vital Question

So, after spelling all the facts of what have I been up to in WA in the two weeks since I joined, have you make you mind? Do you agree with me or my daughter? Am I WA obsessed? I need your help, leave me a comment with your veredict, pleaseeeeeee

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Carry on enjoying your studies and helping out

See you around

Hisbel

Hisbel, hope to emulate you. No small deal! Finding a lot of this overwhelming! Congratulations! B

Thank you Brendan, I feel honoured.

Hmmm...to put questions like this in context, I always like to think about those "makeover" reality shows. The ones like "Restaurant Impossible", "Hotel Impossible", and even the old show "Extreme Makeover". Those kind of projects compress time, and show you how much transformation is possible on an extreme time budget.

I tend to think we can operate the same way when motivated. Motivation and obsession go hand-in-hand, and motivation is what fuels productivity. So I'm inclined to think that your super-active and involved last couple of weeks are good and productive, especially if you feel like you're learning and the extra time and work that you put in has given you a good foundation. However, if you've neglected everything else in your life and you feel more like it's been wheel spinning than productivity, then maybe your daughter has a point.

Very diplomatic ;-)
