Is it Really that simple? The Syndromes that holds you back
Do you overcomplicate what you are doing online?
In the evolving jungle of affiliate marketing and digital marketing I see this all the time.
And yes, I have done it myself too....
Lately I have talked to so many people online who have invested in super expensive DFY tools, funnels and programs before they even had any experience online or made a dollar...
I am talking about High ticket programs, funnels and tools that really burns in your wallet. From 10K+ and upwards.
You do not need to spend a lot of money to make money
I heard so many who were told these myths about having to spend a lot on Solo Ads, listbuildingtools, salesfunnels, email funnels if they want to succeed.
What about you? Have you heard that too?
Let me tell you something.... You do not need it!
I will explain or at least try to explain what I mean based on my own online experience.
The secret Formula syndrome is.... But it cost you big time...
Exactly... You hate being left out of that secret, right?
You want to know cause you are convinced it must be a shortcut to online success.
And it must definitely be worth 10K-60K to get hold of it....
And it better be working for you... or else....
You seen the Headlines - The secret to 50.000 in 7 days using X tool, method etc..
The website and blog Syndrome
Yes - it is an actual online syndrome if you did not know...
I have a website and blog myself here with Wealthy Affiliate and I was a bit surprised when I found out about this syndrome.
Yes, I was wondering if I had it or not.... So if you wonder about the same, here are the symptoms.
You know you got the website syndrome if you are using years perfecting your website without promoting any offers.
You are obsessed by layout, branding, colors and everything else but making sales
You tell yourself - when my website is done - it will start making money.
Believe that your website or blog will sell itself without marketing. (Know how many billion websites and blogs there are? )
You are stuck in endless website article revisions instead of just launching your website and posts.
You focus more on getting cold traffic to your site instead of attracting interested people with SEO, messaging and targeting.
The Funnel syndrome
The funnel syndrome is when you think a funnel is the solution to all your problems online. Yes it is actually a syndrome - believe it or not...
You know you have the funnel syndrome if you are constantly tweaking your funnels instead of making actual offers
Another symptom is spending months perfecting it with lots of automations before you made even a single sale.
You believe that this is the secret that will make your money flow. Sorry to be a spoiler, but it will not happen.
Another well known symptom is testing out tons of different funnel tools hoping this will do the trick for you. The list of funnel tools is long.
Here is the BIG SECRET: You do not need a funnel to make a sale!
There is nothing wrong with having a funnel or investing in paid ads as long as you know how to benefit from that.
The problem for me is when Automated funnels are spewed out like the answer to all our problems.
Let`s put this in a new perspective for a moment. Ask yourself: what is a funnel designed to do? A funnel is designed to guide potential customers through a step-by-step buying journey, moving them from awareness to purchase using a series of strategic pages, emails, and offers.
💡 The goal? Maximize conversions by leading people through a structured process—often with upsells, downsells, and automation to increase customer value.
🚨 The problem? Many funnels are overcomplicated, impersonal, and pushy, making buyers feel trapped rather than welcome
A salesfunnel is designed to recieve cold leads and filter out these leads through an automated process until you make a purchase using FOMO tactics or until you either unsubscribe from the email list or you leave the salespage because of all the pop ups, upsells and downsells.
This is how marketers filter the crickets from the actiontakers.
Unless you have tons of cold leads - you are in no need of a funnel.
The Paid Ads Syndrome
Now, Let`s talk about the paid ads syndrome. A lot of online businesses use paid ads to reach new customers in new markets. There are even courses and programs out there telling you to use paid ads on free lead magnets.
Yes, I know that first hand... and you can ask yourself - is that what you would do?
You think more ad spending and traffic will give you more success
You invest tons every month in paid ads without getting consistent sales from it
You think it is because of the ad platform instead of checking your offer or targeting.
Another big misconception is you think running ads is the same as passive income. Well, I can tell you for sure - It`s not.
The truth: Most marketers doing paid ads are spending more than they earn from it.
Ads are great as amplifiers - not the solution or base for your recurring customer traffic.
The smartest marketers give value, help others and profit first and use some of the profits on ads spend.
Well, There are probably tons of other syndromes, but this is what I focus on today.
My message here is:
Do not overcomplicate wether it is monetizing your website, your funnel, or your offers.
Focus on what matters. Make it simple.
Here is my simple cure: A clear and simple profit first strategy.
Tools are great amplifiers - but never the solution to your problem
Dare to sell your offers.
There are plenty of ways you can sell without being salesy or pushing offers up peoples faces.
If you are a marketer you cannot avoid the sales conversation. Just saying
Give People a reason to come back
This is why I ditched Salesfunnels with pop ups, upsells and downsells.
I never want to get back into that sales loop.
Let me enjoy the sales and buying experience instead.
