My assumption (and this is a guess at best) is that your first article probably has a lower QSR (less competition) for the keyword(s) used.
One way to get indexed faster is to create social bookmarks that link to your article.
If you go down that road, and do it yourself or outsource it, make sure to bookmark your articles manually.
Actually it’s not the lowest QSR of my articles. That’s why it’s puzzling.
I have not gotten to bookmarks or social media in the training yet but will take your advice.
