"Recreating" the 'Home' Page After Deleting It.

As I was starting up a new website, I did what Kyle would suggest aspiring marketers and entreprenuers would do after they have selected a website for their business.

I deleted all the existing posts and comments from the new website...but I made a mistake when doing so...

I deleted the "Home" page along with the pre-existing posts....

I did not notice that at the time I did the recommended clean up, and I will admit, I am not the most thoughtful or careful person in the world. Even my best friend from college has told me on numerous occasions that I am a "little clumsy."

Then I realized the mistake I made when I was making custom menus for my new website. Initially, "Where's the Home page? Shouldn't that be populated on the list?"

Opps...

But where there is a mistake, there is a way to fix it! It's an easy way to do so as well....and prevent problems from occuring down the road.

For those who run into this issue (likely after cleaning out an entire website of pages and posts after getting one), here is how you can remedy this....


1. Go to Appearance ----> Menus

2. Go to custom links, post your main page URL to the URL box underneath
the custom links section (make sure you delete the extra https://
though...otherwise the custom link to the home page will not work)

3. For Link Text, put in "Home", "Main", or whatever you want.

4. Click "Add to Menu"

5. Viola, you have a home page link in your menu.
