On a learning curve and fending off the 'shoulds'
I joined WA last year and made some progress in establishing my website.
Then I left it alone for a while. Became busy with paid work and basically ignored WA, even though I was paying good money each month to remain a member.
I think it's an example of the dreaded 'shoulds' taking over. Thoughts like these:
- I should be earning money at the moment not wandering around the WA site.
- I should be satisfied with the way I earn money now and not looking for new ways.
- I should be grateful for what I have.
- I should stick with what I know and not have these 'silly' ideas to try internet marketing.
Any of you have similar thoughts?
I'm back again now. I've added some posts, and I've started my lessons again, and I'm researching affiliate programs. I feel like I've got a long way to go though, and that can be disheartening.
That said...I just posted a question and two lovely members replied really quickly, and instantly I felt more heartened. I wonder if there are others of you out there at the start of your learning curve feeling the same?

Hi Helen thanks for sharing your insights, I think at times I maybe in the should club. Best wishes for the new chapter in your online journey.

This is a great blog for those members who are on the fence and are having those same "shoulds" but here are some thoughts to keep you going:
If you do not build your dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs.
Never depend on a single income. Make an investment to create a second one.
Hi Helen
I'm just new here so I don't know if I'll have much more to offer than encouragement.
There's a great Japanese proverb "Fall seven times...stand up eight" Don't see obstacles as road blocks...but rather stepping stones! Good luck :)
Great post, Helen! I'm a newcomer to all things computer and internet related, and I have many "should I" moments. It's really stepping out of my comfort zone, but I'm still trying. Just hang in there!
