How can You Prove What You are Saying?

Well, in our articles, for Wealthy Affiliate, our websites, social media and what not, this is often impossible to do.

My first example here is Wealthy Affiliate. First of all let me say I am rapt with Wealthy Affiliate as I am sure most of you are.

But the big but is; how many say Wealthy Affiliate is the world’s number 1 affiliate Marketing platform. OK I think it is great and is certainly up there in the top contenders.

On the other hand, I can’t begin to guess at how many other platforms offer affiliate marketing. So how can I possibly know each and every one of them? Therefore this is a tricky statement.

There are so many of these broad generalisations that put people off. We are often a bunch of cynics, especially if we have been caught with these words. When you make statements do so in a manner that is true.

Broad generalisations are often made without enough or with the wrong information. That is why we all must research to the best of our ability.

Here’s a common type of information being provided this way. How often do you see, ‘Australia’s (your country here) favourite TV show? What is this based on? Poles, surveys, phone call-ins are included here. So you need to realise how few of the world’s population actually participate in these. Percentage wise, not very many. My favourite show; well I don’t really have one but a few. And generally these aren’t what is pushed as a favourite. (I do have some quirky tastes.)

There is a long running news investigation TV show. I have found that hours of research are done for each segment. These are compressed into a one hour show. I really can’t see that the end result has much basis in reality. So much has to be cut out.

My final comment is on review titles. One that I steer away from is ‘ … an Honest Review…’. Think about it. How easy it is to write this. But can you prove it.

I am sure you are doing the best you can on the information you find. That is what we are trained to do. But the general world population, not yet in Wealthy Affiliate, doesn’t know the information and often takes 'Honest' as someone trying to impress.

Yes we do want to make an impression; one based on quality content that speaks for itself. So keep those sweeping statements in check and work around them. For example I say Wealthy Affiliate is among the best platforms in the world. And it is!

Quality content talks for itself. Yes, words like honesty are sometimes bandied around unnecessarily.

Derek, thanks. I just went to your profile and noted you are a member of the procrastination club. Here is a blog you might like. My aversion to Honest, is the use of it by people such as used car salesmen, real estate salesmen and the like.

Not to belittle the very good ones out there!

Thank you Helen. Just spent 10 minutes watching the talk after procrastination. Oh well just procrastinating again.

Derek

I concur and have said it often here: Wealthy Affiliate is among the best platforms in the world. But, I have also said, in my limited experience before I came upon it, Wealthy Affiliate is unlike any other platform out there.

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Well spoken, Helen...

Thanks James. I hope it was well written too:)

It was well written indeed... :)

Doing comparison reviews can provide the proof of which is best, and Wealthy Affiliate always tops my scoring, as they always tend to offer more features than the others. Hopefully will come across a platform someday that outperforms Wealthy Affiliate. And I will make sure I will be honest enough to give credits where due.

But in the meantime, I've come across Wealthy Affiliate reviews that portray false information about Wealthy Affiliate, just to support the claim that they are not the best. If they truly are not, show the correct proof, there is no need creating false information just to please readers who dearly wish Wealthy Affiliate is no good. Its really about being honest online.

I am currently trying to do a comparison table between WA and another platform. Fortunately I have lots of hair or I would now be bald from pulling it out!

The comparison isn't so hard but the second platform is all over the place. Just when I think I have it I find, hidden away, a bit more information.

I done reviews where I note I don't think they are scams. I try to never be negative. The only one I would have liked to say they were a scam is the first place I checked out. I scooted out of there very fast. WA was the second, a fact of which I am truly grateful.
But I couldn't find the website again. I guess that says it all.

The best way to go into reviews is to be totally neutral. Hard I know but truthful.

Check your facts and don't make those sweeping statements. I live with one of this type of person who also is constantly making mass assumptions!

I agree.

It's so tricky when we're already using the platform and telling others about it, to really be honest when there's so many other platforms out there.

It all ends up sounding the same after a while, over and over.

The best way I can think of is to become successful and then share what got you there, offering some proof with screen shots and reaching out to people by email or Skype.

Going but with sales pages and all seems flashy and probably works but it's been don't so much that most people automatically think scam.

Once they find WA though, if they're wanting the results and have seen yours and really connected with you, it's just up to them at that point.

Eric you hit it on the nail head. I find in my research that many reviews are blatantly obviously copied from others. Yes the words are rearranged and altered somewhat.

When I was at university one of my lecturers pointed out the fact that so many students could get away with this. But no they most often couldn't. Why? Because there was an obvious trend in the writing. The lectures aren't stupid.

Being honest right ! And you will be rewarded at the end.

1

I do hope so Jocelyn. I make it a point to be totally honest. I actually have issues with my content being so slow. I just can't stand not having proof of what I say.

Much of the time it comes down to personal judgement

2

You are right there Mike. And the best thing to do is for them to state this. People can't go wrong this way then. If they are passionate with their content and present it well, then their visitors will get it.

Hi Helen. When I am writing content or a review I always rate Wealthy Affiliate as no.1 as in my opinion it is and when writing content I feel it is how I feel and this is my honesty with my readers. I also invite them to come to see for themselves for free to make their own informed decision.
Also when I use the word honest, it is because it comes either a lot of research I have done or again my opinion.
I'm not sure if this helps but it is how I feel
Kind wishes
Vicki

2

Exactly how I feel. I notice you say 'in your opinion' and that's how to do it. Some express this as Gospel and not their opinion.

Stated as an actual fact is the problem and many people do this. I don't mean only for WA either.

It's a great wide world out there and I know only a fraction of a percent of what's happening. I research fully, and boy does this slow me down!

Thanks for responding.
Helen

Thanks, Helen, Yes it sure is and I think if we create an honest article from research and our own knowledge, formes=d as an opinion will keep us safe
Vicki

Thanks Vicki. Sorry but what is formes=d!

I call it dyslexia of the keyboard!

Well said.

2

Ada, thanks. I just took a look at your profile. I bet you do have more interesting things to say. And I like your profile image!

Now, that's being honest.

2

Unfortunately the capitalised Honest brings up bad connotations over here. Usually it is associated with used car salesmen and the like!

I like the plain old honest!
