Hey WAmily,

YouTube Just Rewrote the Creator Monetization Rulebook!

If you're a creator, brand, or just someone who understands the power of a YouTube video's long-term shelf life, you need to hear about this: YouTube CEO Neil Moan recently dropped a bombshell update at 'Made on YouTube' that is set to fundamentally change how creators make money and how brands invest. It's called Dynamic Brand Integrations, and it’s a total game-changer.

For years, the brand partnership model has been rigid. A creator makes a video, 'burns in' a sponsorship, and that deal is locked into the content forever. The original $3,000 deal from 2023 is still sitting on a video that, two years later, might be generating 5,000 steady views a month. That’s massive, untapped revenue flowing to an old, expired partnership. Essentially, those views were just free exposure for a brand no longer paying up.

Those days are officially somethng of the past.

Dynamic Brand Integrations turns every piece of successful, evergreen content into a recurring revenue asset. Instead of permanently embedding a brand segment during editing, creators can now designate a flexible slot in their video. Through YouTube Studio, you can swap out an old sponsor for a new one without ever re-uploading the original video file.

Imagine that tech review from 18 months ago still pulling in traffic. The original productivity app sponsor is long gone. Now? You can seamlessly swap in a deal for a web hosting service, a project management tool, or any relevant brand, transforming a one-time payment into a continuous cash flow. That one-off $3,000 check can now become $3,000 every quarter, or even every month, depending on the traffic your video maintains.

This is a monumental shift for everyone involved:

  • For Creators: Your back catalogue of successful videos is no longer a graveyard of expired deals; it’s a living, breathing inventory. You gain control, flexibility, and the power to monetize proven content indefinitely. This is the definition of building sustainable business assets.
  • For Brands: No more gambling on untested uploads. Brands can now invest in premium inventory, content that has already established viewership patterns, audience demographics, and proven engagement. This allows for continuous, targeted campaigns run through trusted, high-performing videos, rather than having to commission a brand new video for every single campaign.

This move underscores YouTube's unique strength: its long-term content library. While other platforms focus on the fleeting, trending moment, YouTube is doubling down on the value of content that lives for 5, 10, or more years.

So, what's the timeline? YouTube is already testing this feature, with a full roll-out anticipated in 2026.

The Call to Action: YouTube is actively seeking feedback to make sure this feature is as great as it can be. If you have thoughts on what this should or shouldn't do, share them! Let them know what you like, what concerns you, and how you think this will impact your channel. The future of monetization is being built right now!

What are your thoughts on Dynamic Brand Integrations? Do you think this will finally bring about the true value of your evergreen content? Let me know in the comments!

Hi Hein, this is for sure an improvement for content creators on YouTube.

1

Hey Luc,

Yes, for sure. I hope your YouTube channel is up and running already. And you know how to make great videos for your channel by now. πŸ˜‰

Yes, it is, actually, since yesterday 😜

1

That is great. Have you seen my latest PM reply to you? Lemme know if you have any questions.

Hi Hein!

Thanks for sharing this update! It seems that it will be beneficial for creators and brands. Your content can create earnings for years to come. Smart!

Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Hey Nichola,

You are welcome. I can't wait for this to go live, maybe later this year but definitely next year!

Once it becomes live, that will be awesome!πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜

Good morning Hein,

I know that YouTube is continually making changes, I do believe that this is a very good change, as it's not really fair when sponsors stop paying out, but the video still has lots of traction.

I have also had similar things happen with affiliate programs. I have had affiliate programs close, but my links are still going to their website, which is not good, as it sending traffic from my website, to someone else's website, who then takes the commission! I sometimes wondered this is carried out deliberately!!

Yesterday, I was creating a video for one of my channels and something that I was showing from Twitter, had music playing. YouTube did warn me, before I published the video, which was good. The good thing was that they could edit out the music, without me having to edit the video, which is good news. I think if I had uploaded the video, I may have also been able to do the same thing. The reason I mention this, is because it seems like a similar principle to what you mentioned, Hein!

Do I detect a few little AI – isms, Hein?😊

Thank you for the heads up, it's appreciated.

Roy

Hey Roy,

Thank you for your kind words. Why have you had affiliate programs that closed, and how did you pick that up? You could easily replace those links with alternative ones.

Yes, you have to be very cautious with music and images, etc. The best is to extract the audio from the B-roll or use official B-roll websites to acquire your images and video clips. I know of a few really good ones. Just let me know via PM, and I will send them your way. What makes you think I used AI for my article?

Yes, this is really good news for us YouTubers. They say that it will be officially rolled out by 2026, so I can't wait! Have a great day!

Hello Hein,

It's a pleasure!

One particular affiliate program that closed, was a great program, especially as it had the type of garden machinery on that I was promoting. Apparently, in the UK, the margins are quite tight for selling garden machinery. So, my theory is that these companies get affiliates to promote their products and then get a name for themselves, and then abandon the affiliates!

We have seen this type of behaviour with Amazon, when the exaggerated Covid or control arrived, Amazon lowered its commission rates to affiliates. I really think this is quite unreasonable behaviour, because in many cases, the affiliate websites help to build Amazon. So, once they get to a certain level, they can drop the affiliates.

On one of my YouTube channels, I will often share examples of something, which may be from Twitter, but sometimes these short videos, contain music, which I kind of forget about! Until, I upload the video and then, I'm suddenly made aware of the fact!

I use Camtasia assets for some of my videos, Hein, but I don't really have any music, as such, I know that YouTube does offer a few pieces of music for free, which is good. Last year, I had a trial with a company, its name is gone from me, but they allow you to use their music for a monthly fee. I tried it for a month, but I result wasn't really using it enough to justify the programme. Thank you for the offer of websites and images, Camtasia assets gives quite a few images and videos, etc, but sometimes I still can't find what I need.

I just felt the article had a few AI isms within it, Hein, I could be wrong, I've been wrong before!

Yes, this is a great announcement from YouTube, which I believe will help many people.

Have a great day and my apologies for the Encyclopaedia -type reply!!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Well this is interesting. I don't know much about YouTube (yet), and I know I need to get up to speed with it. I'm hoping Bootcamp will be covering YouTube.

3

Hey Mary,

I am sure Bootcamp will cover it. However, there are plenty of existing YouTube training classes in the YouTube community already. Also, if you go to Video Classes in your left menu, you will see more there.

I highly recommend that you start on YouTube, it is one of the top SM platforms to be on, as video is the best form of content and will be for a very long time. Think about it, what conveys a message better, text, audio, or video?

4

Yes, I know it's important!

3

And if you are camera shy, don't worry... There are faceless channels making a helluva lot of money just through Adsense alone. You could do faceless with your own voiceover, or an AI voiceover, or go completely AI. We do the first and the last I mention here, and it has been a game-changer.

3

Hein, beside this important update, do all the other monetization rules remain the same? I am thinking about the first 1000 followers to start monetizing, for example

3

Yes, that is correct.

To monetize a YouTube channel, you generally need 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months OR 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days. You must also live in a supported country, have no active Community Guidelines strikes, enable two-step verification for your Google account, and have an active AdSense account to receive payments.

2

I'm looking forward to learning how to do it all!

2

yeah I remember all these rules! Anyway, I will try to implement the first tasks to achieve the 1000 followers needed! Thank u for the update!!!

2

Good, I know you are going to do well on YouTube! Just ensure you have a logo, banner, and everything else filled out before you start. Also, you need to add your channel tags and keywords before you even upload any videos.

Then, you need to use a good SEO tool for optimizing your videos.

2

Thank you Hein!! I Will surely work step by step on this Plan!!
