My Journey with WA so far

1. Your progress thus far

I joined Wealthy Affiliate less than a week ago and I did get the premium membership. I am still not 100% sure how this will all work in the end - but I love the training and feeling productive each day. After 18 years in the education system - I am looking for a real change. I want to work from home (plan to start instructional design and online training company in the next couple of years. But I really would like some foundational income as I pursue my personal business goals. As we all know, regardless of our dreams - bills come in each month and I have to ensure I can pay them or I will have to go back to work. Luckily for me - my hubby is supportive in this endeavour of mine and that allows me to pursue this. Finding Wealthy Affiliate was a huge BLESSING - I finally feel with hard work I will find success. I am not looking to get rich quick or anything like that.

Your niche that you are working within

For the purposes of training I went with a specific niche - portable chargers/power packs. I am not "passionate" about this but I do think it is a growing market and it was specific enough to meet my training needs. As soon as I understand how all this works I plan to make new websites in all sorts of areas of interest: eLearning, instructional design, training programs, pets, health and diet, mental illness and working from home. I have not made timelines or goals for these yet - as of right now - once I finish the training I will make some deadlines for myself to work on these areas of interest.

I am proud that I am taking the "plunge" to pursue this, many people think I am crazy to leave my educator professional job for the unknown. It scares me too, but I also want something more in my life. As I work my way up in the system (my last role was a school principal) I find my time away from home increases, which leaves me less time for my children and husband. (and my 3 golden retrievers - Buddy, Holly and Peggy Sue - also miss me). I am proud of myself for taking a risk to see if I can achieve a goal and meet the needs of my family.

I would like to have at least 2 websites up (using WA system)

I would like to have at least one sale - just to remind me the system works if I keep at it.

I will have my home office set up.

I will complete my final course for my Masters Degree in Education Technology

will have regular sales coming in - Not necessarily making a ton of money but building a foundation and able to see that it will only increase with more effort and time.

That's where I am today - Less than week in and loving the training - I am hopeful. It is a great place to be !!!
