Why someone else can have the same domain name as mine?

Today I tried to check my domain name by using whois tool. I did not like the result that I got. According to whois data the registrant of my domain name is someone or a company in Panama. The domain name reseller is namecheap.com and the date of registration is on July 2015.

My domain name is mywealthyworld.com. I bought it from namecheap.com either on July 12, 2015. But I cannot find my data at whois website instead of this another registrant from Panama.

What should I do to get my right on this domain name? Is there any possibility that namecheap.com sold the exact domain name to more than one person or company?Should I contact namecheap.com?

You can have a look about it at the website below:

Any advice or comment are highly appreciated. Thanks.

Everything looks right.

Problem solved. Thanks for your support, Harry. Have a great evening.

I clicked on the url you posted above and went straight to your site. When I go to the easy who is site, there is a lot of Panama stuff in there, but down near the bottom it shows the hosting to be here at WA. It doesn't specifically list you as the owner, perhaps for security reasons, but it does list the expiration date as 1 yr. from when you say you bought it. Registering companies can be anywhere. I don't thinke there is any doubt you own the url.

Yes, you are right Broderick. I did the advices from our fellow friends here to check it out to namecheap website. I found that my domain name is mine and it's not available again. Athough the result by whois site is different, it's still available and the registrant is with Panama address. I don't doubt anymore. I trust namecheap.

Many thanks for your kind support and attention. Much appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Did they definitely charge yo for it? Can you see the transaction your Paypal or what ever you used? If you login to namescheap, can you see the domain in your list?

Hello Peter, of course I paid the charge when I purchased my domain name. But I have confirmed it via namecheap website that my domain name is mine only. Like what some friends here said namecheap will not reveal my name as the owner of the domain to protect my site from spammer.

Thank you very much for your kind attention and support. Highly appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Did you change the DNS names to the WP ones? You know the,
Primary: NS1.MYWAHOSTING.COM
Secondary: NS2.MYWAHOSTING.COM

Have a great weekend yourself.

I did change the DNS names and the hosting to WA DNS and hosting.
Primary and secondary DNS are okay.
I think the problem has been solved :-)
I'm not in panic anymore hahaha

Your kind attention is highly appreciated, Peter.
See you around.

Great news. You're welcome.

I looked and it said the name was available no one else had it. You may want to contact namecheap and ask them why it says it's available and doesn't show taken by you. I added a .jpg for you to look at. Just checked namecheap and it shows the domain is not available.

I've had a look at easywhois too and the result was a registrant in Panama. Why is your result said that it is available? Aren't both the opposite results?

Yes, you're right. At http://namecheap.com my domain name is not available.
Why the results are different?

Perhaps I will make a contact with namecheap for clearing it out.

Many thanks for your support and attention. Much appreciated.

Have a great weekend.

The information that you are finding on whois.com is correct. You have got the WHOISGUARD activated which hides your ownership details from the public.

This is a good thing to have as it prevents you from being hassled by scammers and other unpleasant individuals.

If you log into your account with Namecheap you will find the registration details that you provided when you purchased your domain.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your explanation Lis.

Is your domain name also protected and the registrant given on whois data has address in Panama? I got info from Katie (who gave a comment below) that the registrant of her domain name also has address in Panama.
if that is the case, then maybe it is not a problem at all and I can feel relief.

I'm really appreciate your support and attention.

Have a great weekend.

Yes, I also have my sites protected and the registrant of both my domain names also have addresses as Panama.

I hope this gives you peace of mind and helps you to have a great weekend also :).

Lis.

I feel relief after reading your reply. A newbie like me is always have a concern and a little bit panic when something is not like what i thought.:-)

Many thanks for your kind support, Lis. You too have a great sunday afternoon. Cheers.

if you have the protect on your information at name cheap think its called whosguard it will give panama as the address, mine has this when you bought the domain it would have come free with the domain for one year and if you have it on auto renew it will continue

Is it always like that Katie? I meant if our domain names are protected using whoisguard then the registrant will be in Panama?
I hope that is the case and then it will be no matter at all.

Thanks for your explanation and kind attention. Much appreciated.
Have a wonderful weekend.
