Why can't I publish a new post

Yesterday I installed WP security plugin for protecting my website. Today I found that I cannot publish a new post. Then I deleted the WP security plugin because I think maybe the problem comes from the security plugin. But still I cannot publish my new post. Anybody please help me solve my problem? Any idea? All helps are much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh I used that one and could not get into my site had to get tech help

1

Which one you've been used Katie? Deleted your theme and then uploaded and activated it again?

the support team sorted it for me as I could not even get into my site at all to do anything, so if you can would delete the plugin and see if things are working ok

Have you sent a support ticket to Kyle or Carson?
Tell them where and when the problem began.
I myself is not a tech person at all :-) I'm a newbie in website building.

I hope you will get a problem solving.

1

Oh the support team, you meant you've already got Kyle's/Carson's help?

yes this was a few months back now and they resolved it very quickly, when I set out here knew nothing about this type of business, you will do just fine

1

It seems you got some some good answers, including from Kyle also.
Hope you got sorted on this one.

Hey Theuns, how are you?
Thanks for your kind attention. I have solved the problem because of the helps from WA friends here ( including Kyle, Loes, Jane, Bella, TheOldSilly) and now plus your support. What an awesome community we have here.

What about your progress? I'm also a slow move person like you. I do things slowly but certain :-)

Have a good evening.

Indeed, I believe in doing things in a deliberate, methodical way even if it takes me much longer than other people to finish it.
Have to wait and see if my strategy will pay off some time.
Enjoy the week ahead.

I have been having issues this afternoon. I just "cleared my cache" and I hope that things are better. I am unable to edit any pages ... I had installed tiny mce advanced and also some other plugins for spell check, etc., which worked for awhile but now I have no buttons at all and can't type anything. Darn, and I was making such progress!

1

Hey Jane, I had the same problem several days ago. Then I deactivate some plugins including tiny mce but I still had wp edit plugin. With this edit plugin you can edit your content. I hope this will work for your site.
Good luck.

1

Thanks, Hayu. I'll give it a try.

Have you written the post straight into your website page/ post, or have you written it somewhere else and copied and pasted it into your website. I ask this because I tend to write mine in word and then copy and paste. Sometimes my site wont let me publish after I have copied and pasted it and I have to write it up in website

1

Hello Bella, I wrote my post in word then copy pasted it into my site when I got the problem. I have changed my theme and rewrote my post in my new theme and published it. It worked. Then upload and activate my previous theme again like what Loes suggested.
Thanks for the support. Much appreciated.

I wrote on the web page, although I did wise up and make a word doc for one new one when it became clear something was wrong (so that I didn't lose everything). It's weird; if I open a new page, it's fine (with the old buttons) and dfw; but if I open an existing page all the buttons and text are gone in visual mode but if I click the text tab, it's all there.
If I pull the site up it's all there, too.

Technology is weird sometimes.

I know ... so easy to take for granted!

I did some experiments with plugins for writing content. When I'm going to write a content I activate some plugins like site origin page builder and WP edit. After finishing writing the content I deactivate the plugins. So far this trick works well.Just try and see what happens when you activate or deacticate a plugin. We can learn from all the wrong steps and fix it. Happy experimenting :-)

Get rid of this plugin as it is likely causing issues. Do know that your website is far more secure without this plugin than with it as crazy as that sounds.

We secure your website within our state of the art hosting platform and we are doing things to protect your website that is not being done anywhere else in the hosting industry. These plugins are a waste of time and you definitely do not need to use these.

1

What an awesome hosting platform you have Kyle. i didn't know that my website is already secure, so I installed the plugin. Do you know any other method than what Loes suggested to solve my problem?

Thanks for your kind attention.

1

Activate another theme temporarily, delete this theme completely, and upload it again, then activate it again

2

If I change the theme, won't the layout of my pages change either?
Your advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Loes. I have tried to delete my theme completely and change it with another theme and upload it again then activate it. I've tried with 3 different themes, still I cannot publish my post. Any other advice, Loes?
Hartelijk bedankt.

1

Send in a support ticket, if this didnot work, I really don't know what's wrong

1

I have solved the problem Loes. I did what you suggested me, change my theme completely then I rewrote my post on my new theme and deleted the old same post. With the new theme i could publish my post. Then I upload and activate my previous theme again.

Many thanks for your help and kind attention. Have a great evening.

Glad you did, sigh...!!!

Yes the back-ups here are taking care off:)

1

I feel relief that the problem has been solved. Thanks to you and other friends here in WA. Also it's good to know now that our websites are already protected. I'm happy ;-D

1

Try what Loes said.

1

I will try to do it.
Thanks for your attention.
