It's Been 3 Months.

3 months at WA and what a lot I have learned. My biggest revelation so far is that I can actually write, like, a lot! When I get a post going I can keep writing and writing and my ideas seem to go on and on. This is a revelation to me because although I can talk about the things I am passionate about for ages, I didn't expect this to be the same with writing. Granted, I don't know if it's any good but the ideas are there and the writing flows easily (most of the time).

This is the first time in my life that I've actually written on a consistent basis and I'm trying desperately to create a habit of writing every week. I always seem to struggle to start, to get myself to write but once I do, the words seem to flow through me. Having said that, I'll try to keep this short!

If you've ever read Steven Pressfield's book 'The War of Art", you'll know all about the resistance. The powerful force that tries to stop you from doing that which will move you forward towards your dreams. It is our job to break through that resistance and keep moving closer to our dreams. I have learned that it's not a case of beating the resestance once, it's a constant battle and we must be brave enough to break through wall after wall because behind the next wall could be the dream.

Anyway, in my time here I've be breaking down the walls of resistance and making my way through the training. I'll be on level 3 pretty soon and I'm super keen to learn more. My plan now is to just keep plugging away at the training because step by step, inch by inch, I'll get there!

"Writing" has always been a difficult thing for me, but I am beginning to find out that I can put ideas together in a way that 'actually sometimes makes sense' .. LOL

I find, also, that being able to speak to people and talk about things that I am passionate about is much easier than actually trying to write these things down - hence it is nice that I am able to use voice-to-text application* in at least putting together drafts of content pages, and then it just needs to be edited and checked and Shazaam!! a Content page :-)

... (I do the majority of my work at the Coffee shop, using my "Amazon Fire HD-10" and a bluetooth keyboard, and a 'wired' ear-bud headset capable of voice-to-text ..... Not an elegant setup, but definitely does the job .. and is easily portable .....
Note, even if where I am at doesn't have Internet/wifi, I can still create Content wherecer I am at :-)

Anyhow .. as you said: "... keep plugging away at the training ... step by step, inch by inch" is good advice for us all.

Thnx

Joe

I just wish I had that writing ability Hayley! I learned at college to summarise what I had learned and now I can read 50 pages on a topic and automatically condense everything I have read into a couple of short paragraphs - not the best for a website. Argh!

Most of the time I think I'm just waffling on haha!
It's actually great to be able to put things down succinctly. From there you can expand on what's important and not labour the point. I always just think about the people I'm writing for, I don't want to make assumptions that they know what I'm talking about so I try to explain everything fully and in a way that anyone can read and understand (that takes up a few paragraphs) :)

Also, thanks for taking the time to read my post. Much appreciated :)
