One Step at a Time - Keep on Keeping on!!

Hi there WA friends!

I've been part of this community now for about 2 weeks and I must say - it has been a roller-coaster ride - sounds a bit coo-coo I know - but believe me, it IS possible to experience an odyssey in only 2 weeks!! Especially when it involves ME...and COMPUTERS!!

Before stumbling upon Wealthy Affiliates, I've never paid for anything on the internet other than plane tickets and a few hotel bookings... As an African, I can honestly say that the whole 'online money making business' idea by "building" websites and selling stuff with no product, no experience and no CLUE... sounded like something to steer clear of at all costs!

I'm a rugby player by profession and although many people wouldn't exactly dub our 'kind' (and we are a special kind of breed I must confess) on the better end of the IQ spectrum, I consider myself pretty educated... At least in certain general areas... But when it comes to websites and computers and online marketing and... and and... I'm not exactly cream of the crop... Not even close!

So when I took the plunge and decided to go premium on an affiliate website, buy a "domain name" (no clue waht that was at the time), build a website, set monetary goals for my "business" and started 'blogging' and writing content... I'm sure my wife thought I was loosing it! This was one of the mini 'downs' I encountered during the past 2 weeks. I started writing content for my site (as someone put it: if my site was a COW then content is the GRASS...or something like that). I spent about 10 full days on content - hated neglecting my loving wife - and finally posted 8 pages and 4 blogs :) Very proud of that by the way!!

Completing lessons and interacting with the community is wonderful and the help and support you get when things Kyle show you don't go according to plan is fantastic and I've even made a few friends along the way! Tonight I finished Course 2 lesson 10 and am moving forward step by step - not too slowly and very surely! And I'm proud of that! I know I've set some goals, but honestly, if I can have a sale on my site to show for it before the end of my yearly membership, I'll certainly be very satisfied - I'll be uttering "SUCCESSSSSS" the way Dexter, boy genius said it after a successful experiment (if you know this cartoon just picture me giving you a hefty high-five!).

In short, I encourage all people reading this post (all 3 of you... :) to KEEP GOING! Step by Step! Ask for help, post questions, put a smiley or frowney face up and get interacting with people on WA! Be proud of your site! It's YOURS! Your BABY :) Take this thing all the way and don't quit until you've reached that point! I promise you, when you do, there won't be anything around that can stop you from being a great success!
