The Foolish Idealist-Getting into Entrepreneurship
Two years ago I started to learn in university about systems and management, of course, this was related to my country's public health system. I live in Mexico City, but my journey started in Cuernavaca, a city 1 hour away from Mexico City.
After learning concepts from my public health class, I got very interested in learning more about businesses and entrepreneurship. After being frustrated all my life (and also disappointed by) with our current educational system, I thought that the best way to change things and help people is by creating competition. That means setting up a business. I'm a very analytical guy, although I'm obviously also a risk-taker, a calm one. Even so, I looked completely crazy to my family and friends the first time I wanted to start a project.
There's a reason this post is called the foolish idealist. My first project was to create CPR mannequins (also called simulators) from recycled material. They had cheap built-in indicators which helped the user with instant feedback, so if you weren't compressing hard enough, you'd know. I still want to do this project later on, but yeah, at first I didn't quite get it.
The image is from my best friend's recycling PVC plant. We were developing this project together. He's an engineer who has an amazing passion for plants. We even do gardening together every once in a while. We spent hours and hours developing the idea, until the time to execute the project came upon us. It was an impossible task for us at the moment. Even though we both felt disillusioned by our end result, I had to continue. I studied more and decided to research something I completely loved.

You're not a foolish person Hans. A foolish person is one that doesn't recognise their mistakes, makes no effort to change and refuses to learn. All the best. Jim
Don't wait on your vision. Go after it. You can still be active here and do the work on the CPR mannequin. After you get the bugs out of the system, you will create competition in the field and it could also go global if done correctly. DO NOT WAIT. If this is your passion go for it. At the same time, learn all you can from Wealthy Affiliate, this will give you more understanding and information on what needs to be done. You can have the best of both worlds. DON'T QUIT ON YOUR DREAM.
