Conor McGregor and you
So what does Conor McGregor and you have to do with marketing?
Let me state upfront I am against all forms of Violence. I am almost Buddhist in my approach to life but I do like sport.
I learned a lot from an interview today with a Cage Fighter ( mixed martial arts).
Love him or hate him makes little difference as he was just soundly beaten by a Russian fighter. For the followers of this sport you know about the mayhem after the fight for the others it went into the crowd and the ring.
Mixed Martial arts is banned in many countries and tolerated in other but it does have a worldwide following.
So, what's this got to do WA and Internet marketing?
So many times in sport, be it football, motor racing, boxing the loser finds a reason they lost. Bad umpires, pore judges, everyone but them self.
Whilst Mc Greggor is probably not my favorite sportsperson, nor am I a follower I did see a report from him today.
In a softly spoken voice he said that the other fighter was too good, did some unexpected things, landed some great hits and was a worthier winner. He went on to say that he had learned from the fight and that he would be back for another day.
This is a world champion taking responsibility for his failure and learning from it.
It was not the judge, his trainer, the crowd it was he who failed and he who would become a better man. My estimation of the man went up by 100%
I learned from the Brash in your Face fighter that being humble in defeat gets respect
So next time you play the blame game on something you tried and failed look within. Learn and move on.

Thanks for sharing Peter, it is amazing to watch the various sides of a champion, in both winning and losing they display that same level of humility.
So true in this case it is a sport that is gladiatorial, so has its legions of fans and also detractors.
I like the marketing analogy, Peter.
Conor is a tuff nut to crack and is a professional marketer for sure. Just don't MMA with a Russian and never box a Ukrainian.
