Good afternoon, From New Zealand, friends and colleagues,
There was a really great WA post recently, from a very experienced and successful super affiliate member EricCantu.
In this post Eric spoke about the search bar just above here ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
This set me to thinking about our learning behaviours and things that we can do to improve the effectiveness and speed at which we learn.
Learn By Doing
I am very much a disciple of the, Learn By Doing theory of learning.
In brief this postulates that the more an individual interacts with their environment the more they will learn and the more the product of that learning will stick and become intuitive.
I then thought about all the learning paths available to us on the Wealthy Affiliate platform and whether we use them in the most effective way.
As a lifelong learner, I would like to suggest that, if you are not used to learning and interacting with a learning platform, then you might accelerate and obtain more effective learning by considering some guidelines on Learning by Doing at WA.
Guidelines to WA Learn By Doing
Learning and Research
If we want to be the best version of ourselves we owe it to ourselves and to our potential clients/audience/customers to know the ins and outs of our business and to treat our projects as we would treat any other business, where we would do our research and continually seek ways of improving and getting better at what we do.
The first thing to realise therefore is that we never stop learning and that learning is an essential business enabler and improver.
Asking Questions
If the first inclination, when we need information about what we are doing, is to go straight to chat or questions and ask a question, then in my opinion we are missing learning opportunities.
No I am not saying don't ask questions I am saying just think about when is the right time to ask questions.
The Search Bar
I get a good 70-80 percent of the answers, to the questions that occur to me, by typing in a query to the search bar above. ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ».
Then if I cannot satisfy my query with what is thrown up from that query, I will go to training and to live events and see if I can find something there.
Then I go to classrooms and ask a question and sometimes simultaneously to chat.
Why do I do it this way because on the way I find many other things that I would not have found had I gone straight away and asked a pointed question.
So I usually get my answer and get some side benefits on the way.
Trawling
As well as this I trawl posts and new questions to see what subjects are coming up. If my interest is taken, I will go in and look at the multiple answers which often provide different perspectives and depth.
I also monitor chat, where I will make a contribution when I can, but a lot of the time I may be just monitoring the conversation and learning from others from the many rich exchanges that take place there (there is also a deal of fun that is had in chat and you can make some good friends and get to know people through that medium.
Bottom Line - Opportunity
So the upshot of all of this is to suggest that where possible, and of course where time permits, try to get into the habit of revisiting the urge, to make either chat or classrooms, the first, knee-jerk port of call, for information.
Give your self the opportunity to tap the rich vein of information, available across the information and training resources available at WA and for which you pay your subscription.
In this way you are likely to learn more, faster, grow deeper knowledge, and understand more quickly, the potential of this platform, while obtaining your money's worth, and value, from your subscription.
You will also grow your self-confidence to a level where you help others as well as yourself.
Golden Rule = Search Bar First ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»

Hi Hamish,
Your Who, Why, How, What, and Where guys do look suspiciously familiar ... just kidding. π
I totally agree with you and always use the search bar as my first choice whenever I have a question. It usually brings up multiple learning opportunities, including Jayβs recorded webinars.
Iβm also not afraid to ask classroom questions to our WA community directly and have gotten short but helpful answers in live chat, but that seems more socially-oriented to me.
I barely have time to read all the wonderful training that members post routinely but there is always one that has exactly what I need.
My quirky Wordpress and plugin questions usually go to Site Support and they have not failed me yet.
Last but not least are all the day-to-day entertaining and information-rich blogs and yours are always among my favorites.
As a final resort, thereβs always YouTube videos to fill in the blanks.
What more could we possibly ask for at WA?
LoL you are what Brits call a wag sir, pulling on my chain!
Great comments thanks Frank, my attitude to this help as an ambassador thing is to try and deliver a toolkit over time that people might get some value from.
My time is finite her decided by you my adoring public LoL or by me when I have to push off and get my head down in some serious business activity.
Always a pleasure sirπ§
Just working on a review today I was excited I had 37 visitors on my site and itβs just content Iβm not promoting anything yet so it was awesome π
Hamish, Can I use this term Learn by doing as a key word in my niche. With your permission.
Yes, youβre right. Learn by doing is good method of learning. Thanks, for sharing. People may be forget about it.
Be my guest if you go to the hyperlink on those words you will find its origin, its in the public domain not mine , good luck with itπ§

By Golly, at least you have more time than I do to type up a blog while I deal with my daily doldrums with everyday mundane tasks, boring, eh? Thanks for reminders. I use the search task bar religiously. Itβs very helpful, indeed. If itβs not there, time to ask questions in the classroom. Itβs not all in all itβs another brick in the wall, eh?
You still in them doldrums gel? i did a 2000 word post to my Boomer Niche site last night LoL 2 more planned for the next 36 hours. Not trying to rub it in..........
What can we do to get that wind back in your sails? π§
Oh my gosh, where have my sails gone? π€¦ββοΈ Come on, rub it in π±π’. Itβs my bedtime now. Enjoy your day on the other side of the world.
You sleep well and i will whip you up some sails on the sewing machine tonight Brenda LoL
At least the doldrums has not robbed you of your sense of humourπ§
