Dare To Dream

As kids, our dreams had no limits. They asked us "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Our eyes would fill with stars as we eagerly answered "Doctor!", "Actress!" "Rock star!" "Astronaut!" Back then nothing could hold us back. As we continued to grow and learn, our dreams molded themselves around the person we were becoming. By our early teen years we still had high hopes of doing many wonderful things. But somewhere along the road things changed. Instead of encouraging our aspirations the people we looked up to started telling a different story. "Be reasonable." they said "Get a degree and start a family." As if this was the path meant for everyone.

Graduate high school, go to college, start a family and then work every day with the hope you will retire before sixty and have time (and money) to start enjoying life. SIXTY YEARS? How can we possibly expect to live fulfilling lives if we allow more then half of it to slip through our fingers? I'm not saying that this isn't a good lifestyle for anyone, of course there are plenty of people that find total satisfaction and happiness by doing this and that's great for them.

However, we cannot blindly follow that status quo into what others think is best for us. Not if we wish to be the purest form of ourselves.

Consider This

Take a good look at yourself "What is it that YOU want? What will make YOU happy?" Do these questions sound selfish? Well they shouldn't because at the end of each day you are the only one responsible for YOU! People will come into your life and bring you a great deal of joy. However, if you don't seize this day, this outstanding life you were gifted, for all that it's worth... well that will fall on your shoulders and no one else's.

There is something you are meant to do, something that calls to your heart.

Life likes to throw us curve balls, likes to challenge us. Instead of facing that challenge most of us start doing things we believe we "need" to do, rather then reaching for our full potential. We lie to ourselves and work dead end jobs that are far beneath our highest calling, settling for what will (barely) pay the bills. Before long, we lose sight of this calling and just do what we feel has to be done.

I admit I am just as guilty of this as anyone else, it's easy to shy away from the challenge and pretend that it will get better with time.

FACE THE CHALLENGE!

Life is NOT meant to be easy!

When your car breaks down, when you lose your job, or when you fail that exam, this is life testing you to see how much you can handle. You must rise to this challenge, let go of any fear that is holding you back and dive in head first. Even if you fail, all that means is that you have tried and now it is time to try again. You ARE strong enough to face it.

“ Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill.

The world desperately needs people who dare to dream. We need people who say "I can" even when the world tells them they can't. Every great thing that has been created is here only because someone chose not to give up.

So please reader, I urge you, believe in yourself, find your path. Do not cower in the face of naysayers but instead walk past them and from there rise above them. Because anyone, who doesn't believe in you, does not truly believe in themselves.

Love and light to you reader,

Rain
