What motivates me...
My late husband, Keith Scott Hogan passed away on April 14, 2010. From the day he was born, Keith fought hard to have a life of meaning. He was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 at the age of 2. His parents and grandparents raised him to believe he could do or accomplish anything, and he did. In 2008, Keith suffered respiratory failure and was placed on a trache which may have slowed his movement, but did not stop him. At the time of his death, Keith was making plans for the next phase of his life including a credit union for people with disabilities so that other people with disabilities could achieve that which he considered his greatest personal accomplishment: he got to have a "normal" life. We met in 2006 and it was love at first sight. We remained devoted to each other through all the joys and sorrows of our years together and exemplified the truism, "All things are possible through love." Throughout his life, Keith was committed to supporting those who could not always advocate for themselves. He may not have had physical strength, but his spirit, heart and mind made him the strongest man I have ever known. My time with him was short, but he deepened my commitment to be of service to others, sparking their inner light to illuminate the pathway to achieve their highest potential and, in turn, be of service to others.
Fortunately, he documented his message before he passed away, I hope you have a chance to watch it. Please feel free to share it with others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiwHyeY9QRM
