Here's to Your Health
About a month ago I started to have problems with a stiff neck and then numbness in my left arm, with my tingling in my fingers. Several people told me I might need surgery, I may have disc problems and so on. So it got bad enough I went to see a doctor. My doctor knows me pretty well and the first thing he asked was how many hours a day are you sitting in front of a computer? I have two other jobs besides the internet marketing that all are computer heavy. So the answer is 8-12 hours a day.
He gave me some stretching exercises to stretch my neck muscles and told me to take more frequent breaks from the computer. After about two weeks the numbness left my arm with no surgery needed. so how many of you are spending way too much time in front of the computer and neglecting yourself?
One friend of mine told me he actually sets a timer and takes a break every 30 minutes. He goes for a walk or stretches for five minutes before returning to the keyboard. That seems like a lot of breaks but I have tried it. I think clearer and I seem to get more done in the long run. While I'm at it. Watch the junk food. It is easy to pack on the pounds sitting in front of the computer this much. I hope this helps some of you.

Great advise I have to start getting up more ... I gained 12 pounds since I started working form home ... got to get up more ... cheers ... Michel
This is awesome advice and one that many of us should be following. I sometimes go outside and walk around a little bit to get some fresh air. I too struggle from shoulder pain due to an on-the-job injury I suffered earlier this year so strengthening my muscles every now and then helps.
Awesome advice.
Great advice. I try to get up about every half an hour but that doesn't always happen. I should pay more attention to this. Thanks for the info .
